Default Priest Deck

Me and my friends are trying to put a good priest deck together, any suggestions on cards and tactics?

Well, do you want to win by quests or damage? That will help start to shape your deck.

I think being able to win with both is important. Some decks you run against specialize on one or the other, i dislike that but thats just me....

unless you specialize, your going to lose most of your games. There are cards that are just much stronger and better suited to one, or the other. Trying to just outlast your opponent and eek out quests or damage him defensively isn't very effective.

hmmm thats funny my new deck (that does both) does quite well
having a one way deck, all it does is tie you down either it works or it doesnt, you either get a good draw or you dont, how fun is that?

This would be an example of a questing deck with some unit support. Could definately be improved on though, i just slapped it together in like 2 mins.

Avatar: Gnome (3 atk) - At the start of your quest phase you may exert this avatar and destroy one of your abilities. If you do, prevent all combat until the end of the phase.

Quests:
Errand for Wolten
Gale Weaver Test of Faith
Seek the Adventurer's Stone
Find the Frozen Crystal

Abilities:
Divine Aura x4
Tranquility x4
Foolhardy x4
Forge Ahead x4
Gambit x4
Hallowed Aura x3
Disable x1

Tactics:
Outwit x4
Sidestep x4

Items:
Bracers of Forbidden Rites x1
Fippy's Paw x1
Flowing Black Silk Sash x2
Journeyman's Boots x2

Units:
Dwarven Sentry x4
Hoard Hound x4
Gargoyle x4

The aim is obviously to quest. Use tranquility to stop your opponent from attacking you with units, and divine aura (remember, its hidden!) to stop damage from mage fire abilites and avatar-avatar combat if you need it. When its ur quest phase, just go ahead and use that gnome ability to destroy the tranquility on the mat and place a higher level quest without ever entering combat. Or use Outwits to disable protectors your opponent might have at a quest. Then use gambits and hallowed auras to take the needed abilities back out of your discard pile.

The units are obviously there to block your opponent when you dont have a tranquility up, more than anything else. Use hoard hounds to go through your deck and draw the cards you need.

Have fun.

Hawk, I'm actually a big fan of deck throughput. In this game that means soothsayers, hoard hounds, and careful quest choices. but power generation and card drawing ability will make your decks less luck dependant over the course of a tournament. Almost all my decks besides hardcore light decks incorporate the soothsayer x4.

But yes, if your strategy fails you lose. But this is the case in any game.

Another option would be Wager, depending on how ur deck is built.
