Default Scenarios & Skirmish

Since I live in Europe, and am excluded from many of LoN's nicer attractions I have long since decided its no use to spend cash on this game.

The one thing I could do just for fun was a quick skirmish or tutorial with my starter deck.

With the new cards out I hoped that SOE would toss us a new starter deck also, but alas. So without keeping my hopes up I started the scenario's, and found I could do the first 5 at first or second try with my old fighter starter deck. The rest I needed many more tries for, but have finished them all. Just needed a lucky hand.

Now this might be weird, or I might just not understand LoN. How can I, with a starter deck from the previous expansion win all scenario's in the new expansion?

Is the new expansion only an add on? Is it to easy? Are the new cards just not so much better, and is it only intersting for extending the possibilities?

Or should the scenario's be so easy that anyone can do them with whatever random stupid deck?

Default Re: Scenarios & Skirmish

I have found that my favorite deck, Light Warrior, FS has made what were challenges in the past not as much. The scenario's you can select the difficulty on (Easy/Medium/Hard). It is NOT to say that one on hard will not bring you the challenge you are seeking.

It is possible to win against the new expansion with Oathbound decks. It is difficult to say that you would do so with ease or difficulty as it depends on your cards and your knowledge of the game.

The new expansion is just than, an expansion. Adding more content/cards to the existing LoN experience. It is not always easy for certain archtypes/decks. Some of the cards in FS are pretty wicked (amazing).

No scenario should be easy that you can absolutely beat it with any given deck. How else will you learn from mistakes/loss? How else can you learn to adapt and achieve stronger more potent decks? No, it should never be "super easy".

If you can, given you are a fighter deck primarily, trade some of your extra cards for those rares ones that make you truly powerful. To give some ideas, my warrior with all items equipped broaches 20 defense and three runes (defending). Attacking I have two runes and 12 attack. My health reaches 15. BUT I play my Avatar in the scheme of things. I am also a light sided deck. What you kill I can easily bring back.

Warriors are good at a lot, I would say they are mostly used for questing. You will take a thrashing at times as it is always the luck of the draw.

You will need to start trading or buying some boosters, either way.

Your last option, if the financial one is not for you, to beat every scenario with each archtype to gain more cards. Either way, hope you enjoy your play.
