Default The removal of Oathbound set from the Sony Store and from tournament gameplay ~ SOE greed !

Look..... I know the only thing anyone around here cares about is the loot but there happens to be a TCG here in case anyone didn't notice.

They announced they are removing the first set from the store and from tournament gameplay. This move is an insult to the players who spent money building their collections only to have them removed from competitive play.

On one hand removing the old cards from the store is good because the whole concept of a TCG with relationship to card value is print. The game is flooded with this set because the initial rush of loot whores who were feverishly opening packs to sell the loot filled the game with cards.

On the other hand removing them from competitve play is very disappointing because what this is saying is "spend money on this game or fuck off" and "any money you spent previously on this game is now worthless"

All the while they continue to downgrade rewards for tournaments, prize pools continue to shrink. One of the new formats they brought in last month was "Ethernaut only block" forcing players to spend money on that set alone just to compete in that format. What? Was Ethernauts block not bringing in enough money? IT'S CAUSE YOUR LOOT SUCKS! PEOPLE AREN'T BUYING THIS SCAM ANYMORE!

Bottom line with LoN though ... it's been riding on the coat tails of LOOT WHORES willing pay out cash for the loot cards only.

People against RMT cried about loot being meaningful, you made loot worthless now no one wants to get scammed by LoN anymore. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out.

    RMT>SC>LON>

Take your fucking money and shove it you fuckers !

    It's over.

I thought it was removed from oathbound only tournys?Ya know the 8 player ones that no one plays.

Cards generally get removed from circulation point to give them a granfather status and sometimes advantage.

Hopefully they are not removed from all tournys cause i like my OB cards.

Removing it from the store, makes sense as it's part of a TCG. But, removing the capability of playing them? Isn't that just yelling WE ARE MONEY GRUBBERS WHO DON'T CARE ABOUT THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!

Just to be clear .. it is my understanding that the cards can still be used in casual games, scenarios and raids.

Restriction in any form of playability of older cards I am totally against, other than some unforseen specific balance issue with a specific card. In those cases most of the time they just nerf the card in question. People don't like the nerfs much but this is like "hey lets just nerf the entire fucking Oathbound set out of existance".

There is no justification for this other than forcing people who compete to spend more money on cards. Apparently the money we spend on entry fees to the events isn't enough, they need to gouge a little more.

to be fair I completely understand them "phasing" out a block from Standard Tournament play. Imagine if Magic hadn't ever phased out sets. A new player coming into the game woudl have to literally buy thousands and thousands of boosters to try to get caught up.

I just hope they allow some tournament play with the older sets, like an "extended" tournament. While this is not magic the gathering, Magic did set all standards for CCGs.

As I recall MTG does an especially good job at restricting/prohibiting exploitable cards/combos. I prefer that route over disallowing whole sets. That said, I thought the whole 'benefit' of having digital cards was that they could be altered as exploits were discovered unlike traditional cards. So much for that.
