Default Re: The removal of Oathbound set from the Sony Store and from tournament gameplay ~ SOE greed !

I think they had a patch that is making the old versions legal.

Which created another problem of being able to put 8 copies of a card into your deck instead of the previous max of 4. Minor detail I guess.

LoN is losing players as a result of this removal and the compromises they are making are not really satisfying people but I guess time will tell how horrible this move was.

It's not that hard to code it so that they are the same card.

Good. The more players they lose, the better. Maybe if they have less players, they will stop devoting so much damn EQ2 dev time on LoN items/zones.

So much?

The loot from this expansion was a copy/paste job.

NO MOUNTS? WTF! Everything is appearance only and even at that it's 80% wall hangings which take almost 0 effort! It's just artwork, mostly recycled. COMPLETE SHIT!

They didn't spend shit for time on it. The zone is a joke. The loot is a joke considering the cost.

Shard of Love and the Holloween event probably took 10x the amount of work.

I'm not talking about the zone specifically. A lot of the LoN items have new artwork developed specifically for LoN. Such as new cloak appearances, the new backpack, armor, etc. If the artists weren't doing that, they would be able to spend that time creating artwork for the actual game and not LoN. Shard of Love and the Halloween zone SHOULD take more time since it is for EQ2 players and not LoN players.

LoN players are EQ players, well some anyway.

I would even hazard a guess that LoN only players are paying for content in EQ that they never see.

People who spend money on boosters are paying for something, what that is remains to be seen.

I have to ask you Dikank, do you see the conflict yet?

I would also like to ask you ... do you think SOE Denver and SOE SD have different grps of artists working on stuff from the same pool of revenue? uhh oh ... I feel a new thread coming ... look out !

I can almost garauntee you that any profit obtained from SOE Denver is not recycled into the EQ2 budget to hire additional artists etc.

Furthermore during any type of profit analysis there is no prospectus on SOE SD EQ2 in relation to SOE Denver. When they review profits (subscriptions, expansions, etc) from eq2 I can almost garauntee you they do not appropriate funds from LON. What this means is when they see a decline in subscriptions, they will consolidate the development team of eq2. Regardless of the income from LON. Furthermore Brenlo has already confirmed that the SOE SD team budgets time to create LOOT for LON.

Lets be honest here none of us would be surprised if eq2 is making more money with the addition of LON and station cash. Then they were before on subscriptions alone even with the larger playerbase.
