After many years of suffering at my current job, I decided it was time for a new one. Where, do you ask, will I be working?
The
NCCS at NASA/GSFC.
These guys are
serious into clustering (Linux primarily, but some Irix). I toured the facility a while back and they've got racks and racks of sweet hardware (InfiniBand, fiber attached high performance raid, a tape backup silo that holds 4PB)...
My old project (
SeaWiFS which has since become
Ocean Color) is right across the hall. They too have racks and racks of hardware. As a geek I have to say this is as close to "heaven on earth" as I'm going to get (shoot of working for Google or something).
For those few of you who know me, know that I'm doing the happy dance (not the one brought on by insanity, the
real one).
