So, who's moved?
Greetings LDL!
Over the last couple of months (and especially the last couple of weeks), I've been considering moving a toon or two to another server and am curious as to who's moved toons, where they moved them and what they though of their final destinations? Did you move back? Why did you go in the first place?

Re: So, who's moved?
All the people I know who moved, went to AB. Reasons? Livelier server, more rp, etc. I've no idea if it's the game..but lately LDL does feel awfully lame so I can see why ppl'd move~.

I've had lower level toons on AB before (the highest was around 30 at one point). Definitely more "life" over there. Up until 2 weeks ago (I cleaned up a bunch of alts I had no business rolling in the first place), I would still get blind guild invites. I haven't gotten a blind guild invite in 2 years on LDL. Not sure if that's good or bad... *shrugs*
If you want entertainment (or at least something to laugh at), descend into Level_1-9 sometime.

Heh. If I wait for SOE to commit to that act, I'll have long since pitched EQ2 in the garbage Besides, I'm not moving all of them, just one or two.
BTW, I assume when one changes servers, their stuff moves with them? Money? House? etc.

There's stupidity anywhere, why sometimes when I'm bored I go to QH and terrorize people. Also, going by maths, the more people the more stupidity you get. It's bound to happen to see stuff like that but you have to weight it against what you get (busier server).
Oh and if you mean checking AB's lvl 1_9 chat..that'd require to roll an alt. I've a strict policy of zero alts~. =o

Yes but before doing so check somewhere on the official forums for a guide that details how to handle that. ie: you have to keep *all* your stuff in your boxes (banks won't work, I don't remember for sure) to avoid missing items. Most people always lose stuff during a transfer, granted you can always petition a GM to get them back.

Re: So, who's moved?
mhmm seen as im a bit of an old hand at this ;p
Moving chars :
Broker slots : must be empty! remove everything from the containers, and then remove the containers themselves.
Mail Box : Must be empty, remove / delete everything in your mail box, inc the spam tab.
Bank Slots : non shared bank slots are fine, anything in shared bank slots (now 8) has to be removed and placed either in your bank, your bags, or your house vault.
House Vault : anything in your house vault is fine.
House Items : Allegedly everything moves when you move, i learned the hard way that sometimes you lose everything in your house, getting it back is a long drawn out process, very tedious and very frustrating. So my Advice is anything valuable or important in your home , ie not easily replaceable, pick it up and have it in your characters bags prior to moving server, they can roll back your inventory bags in 5secs. much easier and much safer.
hope that this info is of some use to you!

I have no delusions I'm sure the bad may be "worse" in a more highly populated environment, but I'm willing to risk it.

Nah, I meant LDL's 1-9 I purposely stayed out of AB's 1-9 when I was hanging out on lowbie toons over there.
Funny you should mention alts (and the act of having or not having them). I had an epiphany regarding alts about two weeks ago. I added up all the time, energy and money I've spent on the various alts I've had over the years and realized if I'd spent that time on my Brig and/or Warden, I could've been king of the universe by now. I very nearly deleted them all, save for Adun and Step (Adun is safe forever... having a pocket healer is just too damn convenient). But I came to my senses at that last minute (or relinquished the brief grasp on sanity I momentarily held).

Yup yup, sounds good. I had done a few spot checks (mostly people complaining that Server/Account transfers weren't working at that time) but I did find a guide in the Knowledge base. Thanks.

Re: So, who's moved?
Thanks again for the help.
After a few issues, I finally got a toon moved. I had left a container on the broker which held the process up, but once resolved it was a piece of cake. The TSR was nice enough to cut and paste a magical list of conditions:
---
Thank you for taking interest in our EverQuest II Character Transfer service. If you are experiencing issues transferring your character, please review the following stipulations and make sure that all prove true:
* Both registered names are identical on the "TO" and "FROM" account.
* All items on the consignment (broker/fence) that your character owns must be completely removed, including money and containers.
* All items owned by the character must be completely repaired.
* No mail should be present in the mailbox for the character, regardless of read status.
* The character should be clear of all experience debt.
* The character's house, access permissions, and all items therein, including the House Vault items, will transfer to the destination, intact.
* The contents of the character's main bank will transfer, in whole, excluding the shared bank items, which are attached to the server/realm/account. Items in the source account/server/realm's shared bank will become unavailable after the character arrives at its destination.
* Transfers are not allowed from Station Exchange servers.
* Transfers to Station Exchange servers are only allowed after the character has been stripped of all items that are tradable, including coin, and provided that the character is not attempting to be transferred to a PVP server.
* Transfers are not allowed to PVP servers, unless the character is transferring from the same PVP server, but to a different account, instead of a different server.
* If a character by the same name is already on the server, there will be an option to change the name of the character to a different one that is still within the scope of the Naming Policy for EverQuest II.
