    In PVE, I have 2 builds, one for SOLO with a strong pet and CC (root+squirel) to level without trouble ;
one for GROUPS (or more) with Pyro (+elem+archon) going that way : Soul Tree Calculator: Pyromancer (36) / Elemental Summoner (21) / Archon (9) :: Rift: Planes of Telara :: ZAM
the tests I had with ACT in guild groups show a good DPS, I am not at all sure it is the "best" one did as I not play enough with it.
I guess you wanted to get exposure. While exposure is nice, Archon is better. Maxed Exposure you get +10% where as you get 7% from archon and it last 10x as long. Then you will also get 10% casting speed(amazing for fireball,) the best fire DoT in game, and a shit ton of stats from rockslide and max pillaging.
Try this build instead. I also moved around your Pyro points to get you anti CC instead of Wildfire because your not gonna want to cast Flame bolt instead of fireball more then to get the 10% buff. The enhanced smoldering is unneeded as well because you have leeching and 5 points in the passive power return.

I haven't had a chance to really test it, but have you noticed if one mage's exposure benefits all others attacking the mob?

Would really love a toggle to see all of a mobs debuffs, Especially as a stormcaller.

On a side note, why do you put the extra points into reduced fireball pushback for a PvE dps spec? It may just be me but usually if I'm getting hit it's either not enough to do any real pushback or it's too much and I am dead.

Have to agree on the pushback, for grouping / raiding you shouldn't be getting hit anyways. Unless you just wanted more points in pyro tree.

Mainly for more points to power burning bright. Debuffs effect everyone damage on mobs in rads you'll want 1 max exposure and only the person with the maxed one casting it. The choice for the pushback over other points in the tree is more from my experience in dungeons/raids so far. Your Mobs cast on non-tanks. Dots and pulsing AE's are common. I could take the shield i guess for survivability but Ae's are not that hard to heal up from and if i take aggro I'm dying anyway.

About Pushback.. Doesnt pushback effect your casting speed for those spells its used for? When you dont have 3 in "Pushback" fireball and cinderburst has sort of a spell lag that pushes the cast time back, like it lags. From what im reading sounds like you guys are talking about the "Pushback" effects health.

Pushback happens when you are getting hit and delays your cast time, but if you aren't getting hit there's no pushback. It shouldn't effect casting speed, not that I'm aware of.

Also, you don't really cast CB. It's more just used when insta cast procs. I haven't heard anything about a spell lag without it.

Any time you take damage your cast, your cast bar gets "pushed back" a little. Longer the cast time of the spell the more it gets pushed back per hit. It seems set off original cast time not adjusted. with fireball being a 2.5 base cast the effects are quite noticeable as a pyro.

very interesting, if I have enough time, I'll test it in B7 tomorrow.
For the Flame bolt , I understand what you say. My first idea was to have a kind of standard casting order in my 2 basic combo, because chain casting is a good way to get high DPS.

Ballads, I was heading down the Dominator build for the guild (whether we need a Dominator or not is up in the air I guess but assuming we do) This is the ultimate build I was heading for.

Not sure how much dps I am giving up, its very heavy AOE oriented as I figured I might as well grab that nitch, and mostly focuses on Air damage spells. Taking the passive buffs from the elemental line, and stormcaller line, and a couple of the CC abilities from the Dom line.

    Just curious on your thoughts.

If i were to go Dom "for the guild" it would either be a little deeper or a little less. I would either stop at 12 and be the Acc. decay bitch since it a pretty good debuff that stacks.Or, I would go for max reflective presence to counter some specific encounters' spell damage.

Also lets talk about Charged field. It is amazing DPS for 1 person. The thing is, it removes not just your electrify stacks from mobs but everyones. Not only does this cause horrid stacking issues bu ttbh if you look at the stormcaller tree, the last thing you really want to do is remove any stacks. I would personally hope no mages use this talent in raids.
