    This is kind of misleading.

DPS is the final objective here, so cast times are absolutely important when modeling.

SP and SC are interdependent, so you're not going to generate a flat model stating "10 SP = 1 SC" or vice versa.

Now, since I'm doing preliminary mechanics research, a large amount of the SC:SP weighting is going to be based on cast time and base damage.

In relative terms, faster casts with lower base dmg benefit more from SP than SC. Slower casts with larger base dmg benefit more from SC than SP.

You can't generate an accurate model by just taking average hits of spells.

Edit: Just looked at the guy's spreadsheet, and he seems to be on the right track by modeling the DPS equivalency on a per toon (meaning all statistics are incorporated into the model and accounted for) basis.

The model I've been using is from
    http://forums.riftgame.com/showthrea...ear-Guide-v2.0

Which gives a weighted value per point of a particular stat of
    int 0.310375
    wis 0.205424
    sp 0.407307
    sc 0.101276
    foc 0.203654

It's not 100% exact, it doesn't account for any rider effects that you might have on critting, and doesn't pull spell coefficients in, etc. I figure it's good enough to base decisions upon in the meantime until I'm able to rebuild a multi-variate DPS spreadsheet like what I used for Aule in EQ2.

so i haven't played for a while and came back now that EQ2 is on hiatus...

been reading this thread and what i don't get it is... if 1pt spell power is better than 1pt crit, then why is it that an item that has like +200sp would only have like +20 sp crit? Kinda makes it seem that crit is more powerful based on how much of it is on items...

thats only true for weapons afaik

if you check other gear, different items for a slot mostly have a sp:crit ratio of 1:2
