It's not just BotF, Lyger; it's not just Mistmoore - it's everyone. All servers, raiding guilds are dealing with this. Whether it's because progression is blocked, difference of opinion with leadership, or the game becoming less enchanting, people are leaving for other things.
This is how I tend to view it. Every player has a different level of loyalty and a different expectation of what they are willing to deal with to achieve their goals. Some want a quick route to gear. Some have an agenda for bigger and better things. Some people just want to see everything before they quit. The reasons people leave any level of guild are different, but it happens to all of us.
I remember being in less hardcore guilds when recruiting really was a problem. It's hard to find people, because of the stepping stone thing. People come, get a little ways with you and then move on to what they feel are bigger things and it holds you back from growing together. I can sympathize with where you're coming from.
We have similar issues for the following reasons. People join us and see everything and think, "Hey! I beat the game. I can quit now." Sometimes people don't realize the commitment they are making to join us. Every time we solidify our roster, someone ends up deciding to quit the game. Sometimes we lose people to higher ranked WW guilds too, because they think they'll find more happiness there.
Replacing people becomes a chore because of the need to maintain progression. The game isn't helping guilds keep people right now, do to bad progression and loot. It's a trickle down effect from the top. If the higher end guilds stop losing people to bad game progression and poorly designed zones/items, they have no room on their roster. If they have a full roster, they have no room for people to defect from mid level guilds to move up. If people are forced to stay together and learn, they become a better unit.
That's my POV anyway...feel free to disagree.
