I know it sounds weird, but i've gotten better dps results in raid and better solo farming with the Mayong hammer and claymore item. And i have no clue why, considering monks weren't meant to 1h + "shield", look at our shield selection, lol. anybody else tried this? the avatar robe may be contributing to the better dps... but its' consistently beating the strong DW combo, at least till next update.

If you were going that route - Why not use the Ward item from the EOF signature quest?

Does anyonme know if you can DW the SOD reward and Mayong hammer with the changes on test /drool DKP

My biggest argument against that is it's only a ward for 300dmg every 1 in 10 hits... only a couple hundred damage each fight. Also, I may be mistaken, but I think it's bugged (last I checked the icon stays up and no matter how much damage you take it always says "300 damage left" on the tooltip, or something like that).

You can put them together, but because of the delay difference it isn't as great as it might have seemed it would be.

yea the kama would be a 3.325 delay where as the hammer would be a 4.655 delay base with current workings on test unhasted. the hammer is really fucking powerufl though, but im guessing that a monk would get better results with a knotty pine cudgel (6.2 delay unhasted on test in DW) and kama (3.325) as far as timing goes. however, the brimstone hammer does so much damage and the delay on both is enough that it is still easy to time that it may not really matter, esp with the 5 more double attack bonus from the kama affecting the hammer as well.

if you are only concerned about timing, the cudgel hits aprox half as often as the kama does with 0 or 100% haste. i didnt check other values but it is probably about the same idea. if someone can find the sweet spot for haste with the hammer and kama be my guest, but my self buffed haste is 104% (124 haste), so im going off what i ahve roughly.

Actually GBH+Kama will work very well together if you just put 1 point into the second skill in agi line (baton flurry)

That gets your CAs down to a 0.83 total cast time (0.8 exactly with a wis line bard), then with 120ish haste, the Kama is down to 1.6 and the GBH is down to 2.4

This would mean as long as you could keep the baton flurry buff up at all times, which is pretty easy (done it on test) you are getting 2 CAs per swing of the kama and 3 CAs per swing of the Hammer, without having to wory about any timing.
