The only thing I have been able to come up with is the issue of primary CA's versus AA abilities. It seems like they want to make the AA's less powerful than CA's ... and peel is our Level 80 "class defining" ability. That said, I have never understood the time nerfs to Drag.

As for Peel on a guard, guards already have such stong agro methods that allowing them to lock down for an additional 90s would be obscene. It also gives monks a true snap agro, which we lacked. Even with Jester's, we can only have it up 50% of the time (with the Master) which stills gives encounters like the Twins plenty of time to fuck up a raid.

Hey guys, new to the board not to the game. I've been raiding for awhile now and I have to say, it's about time monks were given something to make them actually worthwhile to bring on the raids. For the longest time, no matter how hard I tried, I never felt like I could bring anything to the table. Want DPS? Grab some scouts, Want a tank? Grab a guardian. OT? Bruisers could always do it better.

For the first time I actually feel I've got something to offer to the raid and the game. We have been the red headed step children and it's about time we were given something that was actually *gasp* useful.

For those saying monks will die before Peel is done, use your wits, make it known LOUDLY in raid you're Peeling, use Tsunami, Mtn Stance, Spirit like Mtn, your heal, and if you got it, Superior Parry. I tend to use Tsunmai right before I peel, giving the healers a few extra seconds to get their act together and target me. So far, I've been able to handle 90 seconds without dying.

Best thing I can say, is I have always loved my monk, despite feeling like the third spoke in raid, but now that I have something to offer, I'm in heaven.

My monks not my main, and i just started really experimenting with Peel as i hadnt raided with him (my mystic is usually the one i raid with), but i just tried using it this past weekend a few times during a raid and had mixed results.

I can see how this would be the ultimate in things to have ... but when you have a bastardized combination of T7 Legendary and Fabled, and like one T8 fabled piece (with some legendary jewelery) it can be real dangerous ... i hit it and died like twice right away (wasnt sure if it worked right or not cause i hadnt really tested it in groups) and then a few times it didn't work (cause i didnt realize it wouldnt cast if the mob was targeting me, dont call me stupid i know i am).

BUT all in all its a great spell and perfect for a class like a monk who has 'some' stuff to offer but not nearly as much as other classes, I cant wait to get a bit better gear and if im going to be raiding with my monk more, learning a bit about when i should use this and how to do it (and live!).

On raids it's generally a good idea to tsunami then peel. Gives time for wards and reactives to stack on you.

I generally also go with the stun mitigation stance as tsunami is dropping then as the stun stance drops I trigger master's evasion then the root mitigation stance.

If your healers are even semi awake they should be able to keep you up if your raid is maintaining debuffs.

Yah Tsunami Peel Stances That should keep you alive till the healers wake up and say oh the MT has died LOL.
