Default WHat is best for DPS...these threads never get old

With the RoK stuff i find that even the treasured stuff is better than the EoF fabled, not in all cases but some. Now for getting the most out of our dps what would you say is best stat wise for armor and weapons? Melee Crit, double attack, Haste, +CA or +DPS?

Thoughts?

Crit is prolly the most important, haste the least. I like DPS (the high ones like +8 or 9 and str ring) 2nd since I have been in a troub group lately so no dps buffs, but if you get dps buffs i'd say double attack then ca tho it really depends on how much each value is. I'd also say don't forget +crushing

good call forgot about the crushing. I have my melee at 31% right now. Working on it, at a cost of DA though.

Taking for example our last visit to Thuuga i had approx:

55% of my damage from autoattack.
12% from various procs and df.
33% from ca's

That puts me (and monks in general) on the heavy autoattack side of things, which means +ca dmg is less important, and +crit, +da, +dps are much moreso. We already have have a ton of haste or it would be an important factor as well.

Given that, my instincts are that most of us will go for
+crit just slightly more than +da > +dps > +ca dmg > +haste

Choosing dps and haste bonus items obviously depends on where you are already. You wont choose more haste instead of dps if you are already high into the dim returns for haste, and vice versa. There is likely a similar cap for +ca - (probably 50% like for spells) I just havent seen a good test, and I dont know that we have enough equip options yet to do one.

There is tons of math that can be worked to try to figure it all out - problem is there is also thousand different ways to set up the equations and a thousand different starting points. e.g. i may be grouped with a bunch of casters and have a ton of procs, but you might be with a coercer and inq and no proc classes - this throws alot of calculations off. Imho, the way to do it is to try different configurations on the trash mobs and see what comes out best after lots of parsing.

Some good recent info here for ppl that like details (takes some sifting):

http://www.eq2flames.com/assassins/1...le-attack.html

As to whatever skills you are using (c/s/p) - most of the time you will have a solid hit rate if the mob is highly debuffed without too many item bonuses for these - you just have to make sure that if you dont, you get bonuses to those skills until you do. All the rest is bunk if you arent hitting the mobs consistently.

Ok I may get disagreed here but the plus CA for us is bigger then i think you guys are giving it credit for. We have some fo the fastest refreshing CA's in game and I have noticed a big spike in My dps running plus 200 ca's. The double attack is great if you can get ahold of a nasty 2 hander like the one off pawbuster.

yea im finding that about +30 ca is the sweet spot to compare vs 1 crit, and i get a much larger boost out of DA mainly because i have a ton of crit already, and crits also give a bigger boost to double attacks since you hit twice. crit is basically the big all encompassing boost, but you dont want to skimp on double attack and +ca damage. it is really easy to get about +200 combat art damage too, just wear our rok legendary set chest (until you get hte 4 crit gi), legs, shoulders, or bracers (+4 crushing ftw). i havent seen the boots yet, but i just picked up a nice pair of boots off the renegade faction which have +3 crushing and 2 melee crit and about the same stats as the +35 CA/1 crushing boots off 3 sisters in MC. didnt notice a big difference just yet but in theory it should be a small net boost

Do any of you still use the planar orb of the wanderer? When I use it in raids, it ends up being about 2% of my DPS, so it's kind of like an extra CA. Because of that, I'm wondering if I'd be better off swapping in a ring that adds to double attack (like the quested one in Fens)?

Someone should just do the math, we attack what 100+ times a minute, how many are CA's? Remember to crit works on CA's too, but the one thing you are forgetting is how dps mod factors into our auto attacks and not our CA's (I think) it is a huge multiplier on our dmg and crits. So if u are buffed +CA isn't as big of a deal, if not buffed it becomes more effective. Also dmg spread on the weapon really plays a big part when talking about crits.

one of you experts please post your monk AA tree, I have the brawler line set up for max dps but still can't figure out the best dps on the monk tree.

Thanks
