In short this used to be the best skill for mem wiping mobs, but with a 3 minute recast will now be near worthless for them.

They don't mention a change to the recast. It's going to be blow if it's a short ~9sish duration and keeps the 3 minute recast. IMO the recast should be lowered to be in line with divide and conquer. I know its premature to say without actually seeing the spell, but from the sounds of things (from dev leaks, and the test note), peel is going from best 80 fighter ability to worst by far. (Okay *maybe* not worse than adrenaline but does anyone still play a zerker?)

Ok seriously... 1min30sec was a bit excessive. No one can argue that it wasn't overpowering.

But if it is anything less than 20-30s of absolute lock and then the massive taunt over time it will be a lu13 type nerf to the ability.

you guys can get up to like 90% avoidence and parse like 6k on orange con mobs, its not liek you even need a 2 minute unbreakable taunt to hold aggro lol, i agree, if you didnt see this comeing you are in a dream world, its about fucking time they nerfd you overpowered fuckers...<3 taucher!

90% avoidance, and so what? Raid targets and avoidance has been fubared since KoS came out. If you've yet to realise, you need to play a brawler who relies on contested avoidance to survive.

Do we need peel to hold aggro on raids? Well, that depends on what buffs we have. Previously, I would run full deaggro and have no buffs to assist with aggro generation - because with peel, I actually wanted as little hate as possible. This made Peel useful for stealing aggro on the mob when, say, it used a memwipe, and then hold it for a while to allow things like magnetic note and thought snap to come up. In that aspect, it is now useless, and this is why this change is a huge nerf of the ability. Not that nerfing it was uncalled for; they may have overdone it, though. Once it comes out, I guess we'll see.

Except, the real reason why Peel was powerful was because they could stun themselves and tank like a Guardian while holding aggro through the stun.

I do agree that Peel was overpowered, however until we see what it becomes it can either be shit, or still pretty good.
