Heya guys,
Noob Monk here. I am a lvl 69 Monk, I have read as many threads as I can in reguards to monks gear, aa tree line etc. It seems that no matter what group I get into these days I am expected to tank, where all I want to do is just dps and try to stay at the top of the parse in the group. My question is, why are brawlers expected to tank. I personally would want a Plate tank over a leather any day right? thanks guys.

Cause all groups in the 65-75 range are non existent, so a tank of any sort is good, As for the plate tanks over monk comment, for really hard instances yeah, but monks can tank most instances without a problem and do more dps anyway. If you want to dps, just tell group you havent bought your def stance adept 3 yet, but your off stance is m1 :p or form the group yourself and get a plate tank.

We are a hybrid and as such you can be expected to dps or tank. If you really don't like tanking I would suggest making a pure dps class. However you should enjoy the fact grps want you to tank since most have a stigma against brawler tanks.

Any wich way we look at ti we are tank classes first and foremost. I can with only a couple of t8 masters and not one bit of t8 raid gear ((i have a couple of eof t7 fabled)) tank any heroic zone with one healer. If you dont want to tank roll a rogue or predator for a good melee dps. But then again I tanked on my swashie ^_^
