Its for mitigating critical hits on you, when someone or something crits on you the critical mitigation will reduce that damage.

TSO is the first of the gear with it and they are reintroducing raid mobs critically hitting also.

As a guess i would say + Base CA is not effected by any caps, and would increase the cap on +CA

So at the moment the cap is something like +50% of top damage

So take a CA for example:
Damage - 500 - 1000
+CA cap would be +500 Making a max hit of 1500

But with +10 base CA,
Damage - 510-1100
+CA cap would then be 505, max hit of 1515.

I may be talking utter bollock, i probably am, but thats what i would take it in as.

Or 2nd brainwave, maybe its meant to be +10% Base damage to CA's ? Like melee crit is a % but it gives you a number not a %...

What he said I belive is correct -

Base Combat art damage will actually change the damage that your combat art will do and there is no cap

IE - The temp adornment for wep's that adds 50 to combat art damage is a +50 to the base I belive - as well as the drink that adds 50 - it adds directly to your combat arts - not your CA mod total

but with it saying +10 for the 6 set bonus - I would hope that is suposed to be 10% or somthing along those line's at least and not 10 damage to each ca ..

If a ca does 1000 dmg it will do 1100 before mods. Also increases cap of +ca etc.
