question about monk parse "aware could get ugly "

Hiya guys. Im just getting into the end game as my monk since im used to playing a guard its nice being able to dps. But i was wondering with good gear and good casting order what some of ya guys get as a average parse for instance/raids. As i hardly get to actually group with monks on my plate tank i dont really know what they are capable of if speced and decked out right.

10k, monks can spike 12-13k, they arent really dps exceptional my guard dpses just as good as I do.

Well i have heard of monks doing 10k+ with a nice raid set up. But is that usually a constant damage or is that a 7-9 k norm with a lucky 10k if everything lands and all the buffs are up.

With good buffs 10k is constant. It also depends on the fight.

I can parse 7-8k *if* I'm in a good group and I'm in my dps spec, though oftentimes I'm defensive or in my tank spec depending on what we're going in after, which results in a pretty serious drop in my parse. That's on AB at peak times though without the best hardware, so I'm often running at less than 10 frames per second. I'm pretty certain I'm below what I could be running though.

Gear/AA-wise I'm fully mastered at 191 AA with mostly TSO raid jewelry, choker/jewel of animosity, two pieces of TSO set gear, the double-attack pants from ToMC, T2 shard shoulders and the rest VP geared.

Group buff is essential for dps, no matter what class you are. One of the reasons of why monks are hard to parse well is lacking of proper buffs as what scouts got, such as IA, battle cry, etc.

Until you get 6 fabled set, monk dps on single target is really close to other plate tanks, except sk that is far better than monk.

Basically, don't expect too much on monk single target dps until you are really geared up and get proper group buffs.

On raids with only a dirge with no Fortissimo or the end ability, I am anything between 4.5k and 6k, spiking to just over 7k. Thats about 75% Mastered, 167AA, 80% MC and 40% DA. With buffs to DA, it is alot easier & consistent, closer to 6k.

So I guess I still need a little work on replacing the couple of T2 TSO armors and some of the ROK jewellery I still roll with and casting order mebbe. But it gives you another comparison.
