Monk parse thread

Voidbane just inflates your parses in palace. The crit gi is better everywhere else. I dropped a 10k on palace trash back in December with a troub group while loaded up on like 6 items of VB gear and just pretty much auto attacking, it is that overpowered on that trash which enables monks to throw up 10k parses now without needing any endgame shit. Of course this is the same shit I have been saying for months so not sure why it is a surprise to anyone. That said I am pretty confident we will be throwing up 12-13k on this shit by the end of this expansion.

I thought thats what you meant all along, i just wanted to make sure though that in non palace situations, i wasn't crazy in thinking that the Void Gi isnt exactly good for any other situations. I mean it seemed 'simple' to me, but I was even asked that question two days ago (and i answered as I thought, but ya know, the guru's are really the ones to ask ... i'm just a monk in my off time usually :-( )

Its still not a bad gi if you don't have the crit one. Gnoldor's parse is a perfect example of GVB procs, it was 700+ dps for him, but if remove the extra proc because the palace mobs are void beasts it is still 300+ on his ZW which is still excellent.

Alot of Bards run with the T2 bp stacking up proc gear is
helping every classes dps. With 3 pieces of GVB gear my proc does around 700dps in palace why would you not use that damage potential. Every proc is now getting a large boost in proc rate not just GVB gear. Im pretty sure they put Hollow Aria on the Bard Raid Set on test also.

Some of us should already be diong that with the gear and raid wide dps/setup's they have , just saying.

Nah I don't think so yet.

EDIT: War Gi, Anashti neck, lots of GVB , proc ring and being the MT for this trash and I think 12-13k will be pretty easy.

This is true. Blanka beat me several times when I was playing Rellix(gimp Pally on Permafrost). I won't say it was really close he was winning pretty easily. And he did say the shit about Monks being good at dueling or w/e but to be fair it wasn't my toon and Rellix's gear was pretty awfull.

I'll post my DPS once we run palace and I'm not tanking and worrying about something other than full DPS. I am not in a guild as far in progression so don't expect much when I do get it up here. Will scour logs and see if I have one since I reformatted my comp. If not I'll get it up here next week if I'm not tanking.

Can't find one where I am not tanking. So will just post this one. Had our conjy pulling half the mobs for me and all chain pulls. Merged cause we wiped on the named since someone decided to solo the other Xythus while we were running over to him, or well something to that effect.

As to my gear I was wearing the following. I was tanking but not set up to tank...I made the healers work.

Gi of Swirling Lava (Only the Void Gi so wasn't worth using it for only 1 proc)
TSO set Boots/Wrists
VP set Gloves
TSO tier 2 head/Legs (don't have Dreamslayer slacks or the VP helm)
Captain's Cursed Spaulders
Choker
Jewel
Ethernaut piece
Switchmaster's Earcuff
Bracelet of the Ydal Lord
Band of the Stalker
Ykeshan Toe Ring
Antonia's Cloak of the Exalted Warrior (don't have trak cloak)
Fistwraps of the ethernaut brawler (haven't gotten Nightmare Wraps to drop for me and we haven't cleared Tythus yet)


I know I missed some CA's that was due to taunting/pulling adds off people and it's something I've been working at already. I did die once. I did have BC. Group was Coercer, Templar, Defiler, Dirge and Swash.

Raidwide DPS for this raid was 123k.

We recently lost our 2nd brig, our assassin, 2nd defiler, inquis, both templars we had and have recruits being brought in so everything is lower than normal.

AA's are:
Brawler:
str 4-4-8-8-1, agi 4-4-8, wis 4-4-8-8-1

Monk:
Mostly into Body/Awareness but some scattered in some decent CA's

TSO:
Fighter Line: Off and Def. Stance maxxed, as well as Battle Hardening.
Brawler Line: Tactical Precision, Deflecting Blow and Aversion Maxxed
Monk Line: Mitigating Blows and Meditative Healing maxxed with end lines filled.

Obviously I am set up to tank not really DPS. I have talked with Couching in game on some of it and like my survivability with this.

Though any advice to up my DPS would be greatly appreciated. I will end up keeping this spec for tanking but I'd like to have a more DPS oriented one. I have always been good at keeping aggro and DPS has always lacked behind the high end monks, so I'd like to get more on par.
