Re: Newbie question
For a server - AB and Crush are best - many players, active zones.
I actually made a human monk and human bruiser togeather a long time ago and played them evenly. Somewhere in the 50s the Monk became much more interesting for me to play and I left my bruiser collecting dust since.
If you plan to do a lot of solo - both classes will get you to lvl 80 with no problems. But seeing that EQ2 is really directed at group content - A monk brings more to a group all the way through ROK. (TSO is different both group and solo). Monk adds avoidance and haste and can heal the MT in a pinch. Bruiser brings a small DPS buff to grp - but thats about it.
Both classes are fun - monk has interesting animations - kung fu kicks, etc.
Some problems you will encounter at higher levels is that many do not see the brawler as a MT and you get judged a lot by your DPS output. At this point of the game, the desirability for a monk in raids is on the lower end.
Have fun and welcome to EQ2 and the world of Brawlers!
