Default Crane Twirl Question

Maxed out, Crane Twirl has 16% chance to proc. Does weapon speed cause this percentage to scale or is it just static and having faster weapons will cause more procs?

I would take a stab at the 16% being set in stone. No amount of haste or weapon speed will increase this percentage as far as I know.

The main hand weapon has to hit a mob to get a chance to proc.

The proc rate is normalized to main hand weapon delay before considering haste. You won't get more proc with faster weapon but you will get more proc with more haste.

Since when did we start running uncontested avoid through the avoid checks jackass? Are you making up new rules now? Uncontested avoid has ALWAYS been the total added up.

maybe its just that im high but couching's post looked confusing i figure ill say it in a way that looks clearer to me (could be cause i'm posting high, this is always dangerous) You wont increase the procs % of 16, that will stay fixed...but you will have increased chances to proc because of the increase of haste which will make you hit the mob faster/more, thus giving you that 16% chance on each 'additional' swing you made.

16% proc on a 8 second delay weapon is kind of retarded... I have this Hammer of Hard Knocks, almost makes high delay 2handers even less desireable.

The proc rate is normalized based on delay, all % based proc's are. It's too much work to go find the post by Aerilak stating this, but there's one somewhere on the eq2 boards.

Let's say for the sake of the argument, that it's normalized to a 3s delay (I believe that's right, spells are normalized to a 3s cast time).

That means that for the hammer the proc rate would actually be:
8 / 3 = 2.67
16% * 2.67 = 42.67%

The only place you actually get "penalized" for longer delay weapons is on something like blade chime, which occurs every hit and doesn't scale the damage upwards for longer delay weapons.

When I use heavy hammer + crane flock at least one crane twirl proc's every swing due to the aoe attack.

Good enough Harowen. I will have to try that Crane Flock sometime to see how much it owns in that situation.
