Hi there
Hi all,
First let me say I have been a long time reader first time poster.
With that being said I would like to say hello.
Now for the big bomb.
I read all the time how everyone complains about monk's and there ability to tank. I know a lot of you have tried to tank certain mobs/instances with little or no luck and some with great success . and a lot like to dps. While I agree with most of you that there do need to be changes to the monk class in order to help us become a more desirable tank class for grps and raids (exp. maybe a couple more taunts for AOE and yes get rid of that stupid invis ability.) I will say that that at least on my server, that the majority of grps that are formed are not built for a monk to be tanking in. We as monks need to have grps built for us to tank. example: dirge, coercer, assassin, are the three classes I normally look for when I build a grp for an instance run. i Normally try to stay away from warlocks and wizzies because lets face it in an AOE encounter there is no way that i will hold aggro :-) . I mean I have really good gear and have 200AA and fully mastered. and no my gear isn't master crafted LOL. I have 5 pieces of t4, and yes i am one of the lucky monks who is in a great guild that gives the poor monk a break and throws me loot when all the other tanks decline it. So as far as gear I am very well geared. Now, I am no trying to be a nasty person here. BUT for those of you who are trying to tank some of the harder instances or even trying to tank an easy raid zone, If you don't have the gear and the AA spec to tank get over it. Monk's are to dependent on there gear to tank. My avoidance in tank gear and tanking spec is 90% avoidance and 80% crit mit w/ 55% normally mit.
I have tanked the adds on Zarrakon with one awesome healer in grp and it was a mystic. But i do know my limitations when it comes to tanking, I do not consider myself to be a self proclaimed god when it comes to playing my monk but I DO consider myself to be able to tank when the raid needs it or when i feel like tanking an instance.
So I hope I didn't offend anyone just trying to get a feel for the forums and throw my 2 cents in.

Re: Hi there
You remove the invis and i will be pissed, i get to be a fighter and not have to buy fucking totems or some other bullshit for invis? Kick ass. Invis pulling named that see invis while all the trash around it dont see invis, my favorite thing to do, and time saving also.
Oh, and Junkyard, if you replace the Assassin with a Swash and the same coercer and dirge and you can have a badass warlock kill aoe mobs fast. Agree with most of what you said, I can tank almost any zone on my monk but we aren't the first or second choice for it. Or even third, hehe.
BTW, once again, don't even think about touching my invis.

I ignored all the shit he said about not being able to tank or being able to tank, I dont know i can tank most things (especially if its a decent set up group). I wont lie, theres some things i'd like to add (more fucking AOE agro, and FFS give brawlers some form of Death Save since Warriors and Crusaders have them) but besides that, i'm good.
Just don't fucking dare touch my invis. That's the only thing i took away from the OP, that you dont like our invis and therefore want us to collectively pee in your butt.

Umm, I didn't go that far, maybe just taking his first born son hostage, but peeing in the butt? Nope, that is all for you Fizz.
Just kidding on the first born son part btw.

Re: Hi there
Dunno about the rest of the peeps here but I carry 2 bags of gear all the time. I find the monk very versitile this way.
I have tanked HT with 2 wizzies, 1 warlock, 1 troub and a healer only lost Aggro a very very few times on adds. Even had a few holy shit that was a monk that tanked that comments.
The trick is to be geared for the zone, Mutagenic burst, AoE taunt gear, etc. Change your gear to compliment what buffs your getting. example.. I may put on T3 gear that has the +1 mit to take me to 60% mit self standing and lower my avoid to get the mutigenic burst off more.
On the flip side I was in group with a warlock parsing up 50k dps on adds in LC the SK tank had no chance LOL! It is very possible no tank can hold aoe aggro in certain groups.
Dont touch my invis!

Re: Hi there
I hate having so many bags of gear along with cure pots, mana pots, tinkered items, etc.
As for Mutagenic burst. Up the drop rate of Burning Lavastud so i can stop doing DF ffs.... every day legendary. HZ = Fabled robe/ master spell.
It is very hard to get a healer that doesnt get pissy because I don't let her set the pace of the instance.
PUG groups are a bitch Part I:
" Can you please wait till im there and have heals running before you pull!"
" Bitch i have avatar gear"- I dont say this - More along the lines of " Please stay with the tank"
healer either starts only targeting the scout in the group and healing through the scout. Deciding she is going to pick which person she wants to tank the instance. Healer either is kicked or leaves.
PUGGroups are a bitch Part II:
Another instance. Get a warden. She is angry the zone isn't going quickly enough. Im not tanking, but i have tanked with her earlier that day. I pull extremely fast before even a single person has caught up. The pally was taking his time not to wipe i guess. The warden starts body pulling mobs, dying and saying to the group. "Can we please move faster. I dont want to do this all day...." She acts like she has some place to be yet she is doing instance after instance and dying. Slowing the group down.
I hate heroic instance tanking. People suck that this game. They all pms or are stay at home fathers who "play the game for fun, I dont need this" types.
I play the game for fun dumbasses. I have fun when you don't suck.

Re: Hi there
Tha mutagenic burst charm from Bef:CoA is pretty descent if you have a healer friend you can train straight to undead jester. Also RE2 belt mutagenic burst is pretty easy to get.
