Default Monk DPS

So my monk alt finally hit 70, he was created in November of 2004 so it was long coming.

Anyways, I'm looking for a total DPS build for him as when I play him that's what his role in raids would be.

Looking at the KoS tree it's looking like to me that 4-4-8 in STA/WIS/INT might be the way to go with that. And for the EoF tree...err...WTF happened with the EoF tree? It all sucks ass from as near as I can tell.

Gear wise he'll be geared up as soon as a bow drops, then I'll be spending a lot of my DKP on him. The only tanking he'll be doing is group instances and Courts now and then, so I figure once he's geared up doing either of those shouldn't be a problem.

Also where does monk DPS come from? Auto attack or CAs?

Autoattack for the most part.
Our biggest CA (flailing centipede) only does 1.7k ish dmg.
The trick is to fit each CA between autoattack swings, that's why weapons with a high delay like fist of bashing, razor gauntlets, the dual wield from the crab tend to be better for monks.

Got the FoB last night in LoA for my monker, in DT as we speak...springing traps is really a lot of fun!

Anyways zone wide I'm sitting at 664 and we're up to the AD. Figure it's not bad for a Monk with 38 AA's and some trash gear.

Well considering I haven't really picked the monk up since DoF and just leveled him to 70 with only having 32 AA's and shit gear mid to high 600s with just having a Berserker group buffs in terms of upping my DPS I don't think it's too shabby.

I read this a few days ago and it sounded easy enough. However, I tried it on our last few raids and my dps actually went down a bit. Does it just take some practise? I was under the impression that lower recovery weapons were better. Was I told wrong or are there 2 methods here? Currently I am using the Sceptor of Destruction and Fist of Pain both of which have fast recovery. I am about to finish up Wurmslayer HQ and Claymore so that might help a little. I've only been raiding about 6 weeks now and am still sucking in the dps department, so any tips would help.

I have mostly KoS fabled gear and no fabled jewelry yet so my str is obviously a little low. I also have Altruism (at the requests of my MT and GL). All of which may be the reason I am having a hard time. I guess what I'm actually curious about is CA setup (ie order in which to use) for optimal effect in raid. And any other tidbits that might be useful for a new raiding monk.

Also, what are your auto attacks hitting for on average?
