Ancient balm cures control effects, but it can't be used while you're stifled/stunned like oh I dunno this little ability called voice of the ancestors can, and it's only for 1 target, whereas voice of the ancestors is your whole group.

And if you're not stifled/stunned yourself, why don't you just cure the arcane/trauma/whatever that's stunning/stifling/rooting/fearing/charming the target you'd want to use ancient balm on to get rid of it, if you're spec'd sta line it'd take less time to cast and less mana.

The only feasible time to use it I can think of is if the person has every control ability imaginable on them all at the same time, and even if there were fights designed like that, voice of the ancestors is still a million times better.

So anyone know something I don't about this?

Really to be honest the spell is only useful when there are a large amounts of afflictions on a person. An example is when a tank is charmed, you can toss the out and get alot of effects off quickly.

Another use is if you need to cure someone on the move. An example is if a tank is feared in the opposite direction as healers and is running out of range. Instead of running near him, stopping and curing, you can just run and hit the cure and cure on the run.

Other than that its pretty useless.

my main's a fury, but this's honestly the #1 spell that i miss when i play my fury as opposed to my mystic alt. when there's status effects galore on the tank or other random group member, i wish i had this spell. like u said, it would be UBER on fights with charms to strip them quick

Maybe Aeralik does... as i share your thoughts, its nice especially when theres lots of dots on a person or to cross cure someone when you not sure which effect they have on them. other then that a voice of ancestor alike ability would be awesome.

Afaik stamina line only influences Cure Trauma, Cure Arcane, Cure elemental, Cure Noxious but not Ancient Balm

sta line curing is exactly what I was referring to, how could you interpret the sentence any other way? Even if sta line did for no apparent reason affect ancient balm, it wouldn't be any faster cast, they're both 1 second.

woudlnt it be awsome if we had a spell like the defilers voice of ancesters that coudl cure our group through stuns? yea...thatd be awsome, well thx sony for another ass fuck and worthless ability! i hardly ever used that spell, basically like lepios said only good if theres mutliple effect types other then that nothing a cure wont fix, i ended up not even keeping it on my hotbar

I use it mostly on Wuoshi for curing on the run. Other than that...courtesans when they charm people who get a ton of effects..
