Does anyone use their mystic in raids for support only, no offense? It seems that all I am reading is about being specced to attack, not stand back and ward, cure, heal and debuff during raids. Am I just missing something?

DPS is the last thing I focus on. I keep my group up and debuff the mob. If I have time over I dps.

With 140 achievement points to spend you will soon realise that after you have spent points on all viable support choices you have a bunch of points left to spend. That is why most of us are specced for DPS as well, since there just isn't anything else worthwhile to spend your points in.

With that said you will see us DPS'ing less on raids nowadays then what we used to do in EOF. There just isn't as much trash to clear, and most nameds either don't allow you to melee or hits hard enough for you to spend most (if not all) time healing, curing and debuffing. Veeshan's Peak that is the largest raid zone in ROK contains of 12 nameds and hardly any trash compared to Emerald Halls.

It's been said a few times but hey, I can't resist putting in my two nonsense.

Like I know its been mentioned, most raid mystics are spec'd totally for support. But, at the end of the day we are left with a ton of extra AA's. Our CA's are the next most logical choice because frankly, the other choices are worthless.

You should be healing(warding included), debuffing, and curing, before you burn out dps. But if you have a handle on all the above..Most of us are keeping our groups alive, staying high on the heal parse (as if that means shit), debuffing the mob, and still hitting 1-2k zonewide.

yeah i mean if theres no trash and its just names i still dps unless its a fight that i cant dps on (Stunning shield on the mob, aoe that is just unmanagable to stay in, gotta heal so much dps is out of the question etc) ... but we have too many AA points to spend if only on 'support' options. Most raids i've been on (in raiding guilds i've raided with and 'alliances' i've raided with) the ones who do the rezzing are Dirges/Necros/Pallys so that rules out the Rezz line (totally wasted). Cures? most of the time is someone else who cures unless i'm the solo healer in the group, but either way the ward is for a minute (i thought it was alot shorter till recently) but most aoes if extended will take more than a minute to come again so that ward isnt the best for raids (to me).

Shaman wise i think theres a lot of crappy AA's for us, besides the ones most people go down....no homo

why support when you can bust out the sick dps..everyone says INQ are the best battle priest.bah mystics can rock that shit, with the right weapon you can top parse in some instances.

I hope no mystic ever tops his guilds dps parse. If he does the pure dps classes in that guild should just quit the game.

If you are lucky to get your hand on a -Reflective smoldering shard- you can have one melee-setup...and one heal-setup.

I have one raid-setup where there are no melee thigns at all...I have focused on taking all the buffs...then the entire rezline. And going for the cure line aswell.
THe rezline isnt that crap that many ppl say...I like it alot.
Getting 8 ppl up within 4 sec with 55% health and power is very nice if things go wrong.
The rezzes are so fast to cast...and are back to casting within a minute.
I can rez a person WAY over on the other side wihtout having to leave my spot. With the mirror you are able to get all the good stuff.
I dont melee on raids anyway, im busy taking care of my group and other ppl.
