Default Spell Based DPS (not a bitch session)

I am honestly wondering if any mystic out there uses spell DMG regularly for DPS. I am Combat speccd and wondering if anyone can tell me a bit about how thier Spells are working out for them. Yes I know most mystics are CA spec'd but I am honestly wondering if its worth trying since our epic is suggesting we fight in this manner.

Please share any insight you can offer.

Thanks

On some of the fights theres not much other to do then DPS using your spells. I found out that in VP due to the crappy hit rate for melee autoattack on orange cons, I can do the same dps using my spells given I am in a spellcaster dps group.

I hate using them, they are slow casts and low dps. They gave us the combat line with a vision of us meleeing so I still can't see why Aeralik not stepped into the office where they designed the Epic, slammed his fist on the table and told them to change the +spell damage in something usefull like heal crit / +CA / +double attack / haste

We have faith in you Aeralik now go step into THAT office!
