Default Some Questions about raiding with a mystic

I have finally reached 80 and am starting to raid RoK a bit and have some questions about the Shaman Achievements. Now I had some questions about certain line abilities in regards to epics.

In the str line the only thing that seems good is the haste with the pet and that seems good only for those that its near. But was wondering if the AoE immunity the pet procs works on epic AoEs since it is not described in the description?

Now the INT line has an immunity group buff, in the description it says, "Applies to Profession and NPC racial spells only." I believe this means not in PVP but could anyone elaborate on just what immunity does and how effective is it for Epic in RoK.

Also in the Int line the last thing is a debuffer and DOT. Someone in game told me its great for raiding, is this true?

What is more important on a Raid heal crits or faster re use?

Does the re use in the STA stack with the Re use in the WIS line? And does the WIS Re use effect everything the mystic casts?

Now I heard that +spell dmg actually applies to debuffs like Haze and so forth. Is this True? If it is can debuffs crit?

Depending on your answers I was thinking of spec'ing this for raids

STR 4,4,6,8,1 STA 4,4,6,8,1 Maybe WIS 4,5,4,8 or 4,8,4,5. trade WIS for INT 4,4,5,8,

Any feedback is appreciated.

Ok well here is my 2 cents on the AA choices.

STR line- I personally love this line. The AE avoid effect does work on epics. The dog himself is always AE immune once u get the final ability. He procs a groupwide avoid, often enough but dont rely on it(basically good for trash mob AEs.) The one mistake I've seen is mystic don't send him in to attack. He has to attack to proc the AE and the group ward. The haste buff is passive. And do your best to keep him behind the mob. He will die to ripostes and frontal AEs as those are direct.

INT line- Not worth it imo. Never tried to use scourge or immunities. The other choices are ho hum seeing as how we are melee based dps so spell crit doesnt mean much. Rabies is a nice spell. People like to use scourge on Leviathon and other mobs with damage shields I believe.

The following comments are made in regards to a healing mystic spec, not dps mystic.

With the new changes to cures, I personally don't much like the Stamina line. With one cure now, the faster cast/reuse/power cost is so much less impactful than other AA options. The rest of the stamina line doesn't hold much raid value. With the exception of coagulate, but why spend 22 AAs to get an effect that only triggers when you basically have let that person die. Mystics are proactive healers at best.

The Wisdom line is great top to bottom. Ritual is great, prolly over powering if it affected our wards. Great to heal up a group after a heavy AE or tank if spiking. The increased reuse speed is great even if it is only 8%. And Alcarity is a group only Jcap, the group member who gets it will love you. If only we could cast it on ourselves then use our mythicals....ah to dream.

So imo the best healing mystic setup is

STR- 4-4-6-8-1
WIS- 4-7-4-8-1
AGI- 4-4-4-8

Give you the heal crits, full healing dog, reuse speed, mini jcap, and ritual.

Hope thats a start. And please if any mystics disagree please post your thoughts.

DPS mystic AA's another time and another place.

For 95% of the game i use the following specc. it has all your dps AA's plus 3 in curing for faster cures, WIS is nice for pretty much everything and completly blows STR away imo. Ritual is bad ass for a huge heal, i tie it to my 2 ST heals and my grp heal so its used when ever its availible. Reuse is a shamans best friend bar none, and RoA is simply amazing for anyone in your grp.

WIS -4 6 4 8 1
AGI - 4 4 8 8 1
STA -4 4 8 3

I have this specc in my mirror for avatars and anything thats going to be very curing intensive seeing as i wont be doing squat worth of dps i went ahead and picked up coagulate also, it doesnt seem like much but it can and prob will save your group especially if your healing a grp of squishies

WIS - 4 8 4 8 1
AGI - 4 4 4 8
STA -6 4 4 8 1

Str line is great, but with all the fuggin reactives on mobs these days, the dog is kinda worthless past T2. Everything just kills it so fast its never up.

Not true...my dog hardly ever dies, and we raid T4 ....i send him in on 99% of the fights. Only time i dont is if im helping OT with adds..then i send it on the add so we can get the hastebuff and the wards near us...
But the dog hardly ever dies....90 - 95% of the time its alive even on the harder mobs.
Are you sure you have the last point in STR-line..and are not sending the dog standing infront of the mob?

turning off pet auto attack and relaunching from the rear if the mob turns or moves or is lost, can eaily save wasting the dog. just means one more thing to take care of :P

agi 44782
sta 4448
wis 44682

Heal crits, fast cures, alacrity, reuse reduction, and the melee crit & double attack never hurts -- if you're not going to be dpsing anything ever then u can drop tribal rage and the points in melee crit for points to get coagulate (when ur in the mage group it will often save them a death)

I haven't been a fan of the dog in a long time; if he dies you just neutralized half of ur AA's; ppl like to use a shaman dog to pull; none of his wards or aoe immunity are any guarantee nor proc often enough to be relied upon and the whole line is a huge liability waiting to fall on its ass. Lots of people swear they always get behind the boss to send their dog in and never get riposted etc. and that's fine if you want to take on more management, they are valid support buffs and heals.

It's a lot of personal choice and playstyle as long as you understand the benefits and plan accordingly -- this isn't DPS, there is no maximum # to shoot for, you're there to make sure ppl don't die and provide support after that.

Really wish I could spend another 20 Mystic AA's in the Shaman tree to have Tribal Rage, but I have a build that's 100% like Kaizer's.

My view on the Dog is that he lives 95%+ of the time and when I'm calling out AOE's for jousting I usually have to look at other groups health, because our group almost never gets hit.

There is no reuse in the Stamina line because the reuse on cures is already instant. Yes, the reuse in the Wisdom line applies to all abilities, even combat arts.

I have two specs that I swap between depending on the encounter. My max healing spec is for avatars, trak, etc. and I never cast the dog; its ward has shown to be negligible on zonewides. My max DPS spec is for everything else and the dog is always used, rarely dies, and even sometimes saves my ass. I only swap between these two extremes and lately I've just stayed in the DPS spec for everything.

Healing:
AGI 4 4 4 8
STA 4 4 6 8 1
WIS 4 4 7 8 1

DPS:
STR 7 8 8 0 1
AGI 6 8 8 0 1
STA 4 8 8

As a raiding mytic I have dumped the dog line also.

Personally think its worthless.

I do use coagulate and ROA for those trees. Simliar to the above post that profe listed with some minor changes.
