I've seen different opinions everywhere, someone please give me some insight! I'm thinking about betraying to a mystic and I would be a MT shaman in raid. (at times) Could I ever be as good as my defiler, is my heal capability the same? What knowledge would help me to be as good as the MT defiler I was (is) ? Is this a bad decision, knowing is all I'm ever going to do with my class is raid?

If you go Mystic I doubt you'll be MT shaman. They will then or at least should activly seek a defiler for MT shaman.

all things being equal defilers are the better MT shaman.

Get your debuffs mastered out (They didn't get upgraded in T8 so you'll need to check the broker or hit some T7 content to get upgrades) and grab the M1 Ancestral Sentry asap. The rest you should just pickup as you can.

Either can do the job fine in the MT group, defilers have less to do if they aren't in the MT group however. I've rolled with a Defiler MT raid force and a Mystic MT raid force. No noticable difference whatsoever.

Be good at your class and be social, make friends. You'll be fine with a Mystic. (And in my opinion have considerably more fun.)
