what the hell do you want me to do with them? its a fucking aa tree, only had slight modification since EoF. basically im pretty sure everyone is holding the same basic perspective that.

1.) we only have 2 decent tree in the mystic side, cure line is crap, rez line is only a little better becasue certain mobs require spirit dance in order rez ppl unless you have necros doing it.

2.) we got more aa, not better aa's just more points to spend on crappy aa lines.

I think this entire class forum would benefit from more frequent discussion from class members. That might help Lepios prepare better guides quicker.

Currently I'm trying to gather some information on EOF class trees for the mystic, to say they are crap.. its not really going to benefit anyone other than discussing why they are crap... Whats good for raiding in your opinion?

What gear do you raiders have that is different from the class lists in the defiler forum? Why is it better for you? Perhaps there's more emphasis on melee because of your aa specs? Information in this vein is kind of what people are asking for.

personal preference and possible raid setup is different. For example I have a dps and a pure heal spec for the shaman tree for certain zones and specific times. But there again its just a combination of what has previously been discussed.

The biggest problem is the lack of numbers our class has. I know i have seen numbers that show how many of each class there are and we are somewhere in the middle but the numbers of people who come to this forum are small. So we ask good questions but as time has progressed there isnt much more to ask. Honestly There are probably only about 40 people that are semi active in this forum compared to others that have 5 times or more.

Not trying to come down on you, Lepios. I am just posting how I see things in this forum.

I disagree about the AA lines. The extra points and the AA mirrors gave mystics the opportunity to be able to switch around points for certain encounters & zones. The cure line is not complete junk when you pick the end line. The rez line works for me on avatars or when learning new encounters -- 50m is nice when you are in a hurry and don't want to chase corpses down, and there are many fights when you won't be dpsing, so the CAs are kinda pointless for those. Immunities comes in very handy in many situations, such as, solo-healing the ot on druushk. And of course our shaman tree is a lot more interesting now that we can put 20 more points in there as well. There were not a lot of choices as to what to pick in EoF for a mystic, but with the extra 20 points in RoK, you can switch back and forth for whatever you are fighting and be able to play the class as intended. It's nice to see mystics being able to mold themselves to a guild they are in, not just taking the AA line that is a no-brainer. It took about 300p worth of respeccing, but I now have 4 different specs I use, now that you can have more than one AA mirror in your house.

I also agree that there is not a lot of substance in this forum. I think the reason a lot of mystics don't come read and post here is because most of the information (at least in my case) found here is stuff I learned around level 20 or 30.

Some of it is great information for those who haven't got any idea how to play their toon, but for the ones who have been playing since just around launch, a majority of the information isn't worth the read, or it is just answering questions for new mystics about spells and whatnot. For example, in the mystic section, under "a mystic guide," all that is listed is an outdated spell list that you can look in your knowledge book or even on Alachazam or Eq2i to get. I would hope most of the people hitting this forum would at least know what spells they have. We only had a gear thread posted about 2 weeks ago, and RoK is half finished.

In all honesty, I read the defiler forums a lot more, and I only hit this one about once or twice a week. I'm not blaming Lepios for this, but I do agree that this forum has been pretty lacking since RoK hit, and perhaps he is right: maybe it is the lack of participation by the mystics who still play, but I also think that it is because there really isn't much to say about what has been posted.

And the fact that theres nothing really to talk about, and because complaining/envying other classes doesn't help, it seems like we whine less about our stuff and about other classes, than most class boards.

I mean whats there to do? Debate whats a better THIRD line from the Mystic AA's, Rezzing or Curing? And sure Curing is good if you throw like 20 points into the line you can get a good end thing. Personally i prefer the rez line now that I am rezzing more than i had in the past (used to be strictly the job of Dirges and Necro's, now i'm having to rez people :-( )

Our Set gear was fixed (not the best but hardly bad anymore), our spells are fine, we don't seem to need any help with the class really. Honestly i find myself thinking we might be one of the better balanced classes at this point.

honestly i do not like the curing line at all. Im not saying it is bad. but there are plently of items in the game that give you the same basic effect. Take drushkk for instance. If you where a shield of rainbow hues, you probably wont be fear. There are very few fights in the game that would really call a need to have immunities.

Now lets compare it to spirit dance. Sony has felt the need to have mobs in the game that summon stuff if you drop under a certain percent of power. Look at avatar of hate. The only ppl that can rez on that fight are necros and mystics for the most part. Since spirit dance doesnt apply rez effects, then you get rezzed and have no negative effects against you and you are also rezzed at 55% hp and power.

its mainly a choice of preference now. i choose to spec spirit dance. The Eof tree is also a preference choice of what is needed in your guild or group.

Also why dont you keep your CA's and toss them out when you can. they are fast and can add up to a good total if you are helping melee. Every healer should be atleast doing that. Heck by just meleeing and tossing out CAs here and there i parse at about 800 to 1000 dps which helps the raid in essence.

I agree its preference on specs. We have a lot of decent choices and maybe that is what makes it so hard to say "you must spec this way and no other"..So many combination for so many different possibilities all dictated by what zone you are doing either group or raid.

Personally I don't care for the cure line since they changed it so you can't pre-ward. So again, we can debate "oh you have to use this one", but I don't think anyone can say beyond a shadow of doubt any one spec is effectively better then another. Some are good for some situations and some are good for others..Thank god for mirrors and all the plat PR drops to pay the bills.
