Default Fast weapons vs Slow weapons

It seems to me the best weapons are the fastest gleaming strikers you can find. Why? Bear claws (from AA) and gleaming strike don't care for weapon speed. Plus, you can use a shield. Bear claws and gleaming strike seem to proc off any auto attack or melee ability, correct me if im wrong. 1 handers usually have about 35%ish less rating than 2 handers, but you are swinging at least twice as fast which means at least twice as many procs from auto attack.

If I'm stating the obvious here let me know, though I have seen a lot of mystics talking about slow 2 handers and how good they are.

Most procs are "procs-per-minute" not "procs per swing". Low delay weapons have little impact on proc rate (with exception to things like CoB).

What you looking for is a weapon with a high damage rating and a high spread with a hasted delay just over your average spell cast time (for spell cast between swings).

bear claws is 25% chance on swing, not per minute. I do agree with you though that a weapon with a delay just longer than the cast time of wards/heals would probably be best. Though most of the time I'm soloing I never cast spells unless i'm low hp and not close to a mini-ding. A 1.6 delay club would be great for bear claws, but the weapon would be wasteful during spellcasts. A 3 delay 2 hander is probably best for soloing... and if you have tribal rage then a 5 delay would probably be best.

Either way you go, make sure you find something with great Spread, as I'm guessing your at 100% melee crit which makes full use of spread. Low delay weaps tend to have some poor spreads, but theyre out there.
