Its fun to use it if you can time an AE KB, not sure if it still works but Oberon would stun/root you in place so after teh kb hits toggle it off then resume casting.

IMO mystics are too nasty with wards/heal/debuffs/dps to bother stunning ourselves for 36 seconds. I know I didnt answer your question, but just avoid oberon on important fights. Put it up on trash and go afk real quick.
being rooted doesnt prevent you from getting knocked back. you just cant move before, during, and after the knockback. this is why on fights like avatar of growth it can really suck to get rooted then punted cus you end up a mile away.

As far as my experiments have gotten me, it's good enough for most trash with a half decent tank. Saves you from struggling around with wards. Just cast Oberon and go for a coke.

almost every priest class acquires a heal that stuns/stifles them and lasts for about a 36 sec duration, you should really only use it to take a quick afk in the middle of the fight. if i was your tank and you used this on important pulls, id slap you.

using it to preward on a difficult mob then disabling it after the mobs first hit is fine, but as a mystic i usually dont have a problem with wards being eaten on first hit anyway.

Every 4 seconds it regenerates half the base amount of the ward (i.e. without +heal), plus your entire +heal amount. I don't know why your full heal bonus is applied to each regen tick, but that's what it seems to be in my testing. (Don't know if there's a cap on it or what the cap would be.) The AA that increases the strength of Oberon applies to both the initial ward and the regeneration.

Not quite sure if I understand. Some put it up on pulls. But in that case it's the last spell you cast before the mob starts hitting, so it would be the last ward on the stack, thus not eating any damage until everything else is down, and in that case, you better don't dare to be stunned. It's but asking for a wipe.

I use it on myself to just stay in next to the mobs instead of jousting. or if there is someone taking heavy crits from ae's (ie mages wearing random gear for pure dps instead of crit mit) I just toss it on exactly as the ae lands and toggle it off straight after.

It's all about the toggling at the exact moment it is needed in order to get the best out of it without making it worse than casting another spell. I'd see myself using it a LOT more if it was raid wide WTB! :P
