OK, this may be a total Newb question here, but the Oberon line makes no since to me. It says it protects against XXXX of all damage, and stuns me for 36 seconds. Does that mean that while I am stunned each hit that hits the tank has to be over that XXXX amount in order to hurt them? Or once they take a total amount of damage equaling XXXX it goes away?

If any experienced Mystic could clarify I would be greatful.

My understanding is:

Oberon wards for X amount for 36secs. For the whole duration that ward also regenerates to a maximum of the original ward amount.

Oberon only ends when you cancel or once 36secs has passed.

One thing I've never tested is how fast is does regenerate.

TBH I hardly ever use the spell. Some mystic put it up on incoming just for another 4k ish ward to eat damage. My preference is to time my group ward to reply right as the precasted group ward gets used up.

Its fun to use it if you can time an AE KB, not sure if it still works but Oberon would stun/root you in place so after teh kb hits toggle it off then resume casting.

IMO mystics are too nasty with wards/heal/debuffs/dps to bother stunning ourselves for 36 seconds. I know I didnt answer your question, but just avoid oberon on important fights. Put it up on trash and go afk real quick.

Yeah true very situational tool. Only ever used it when i know a stifle is inc. I just use mythical heal if i want an afk these days :P.

Very situational spell, it regens ever 4 seconds, Usefull when 2 boxing, when timeed to cast right as a big aoe hits, or when timed to a Death touch type spell, Ihave used it in VP on Nex fights ( ST ward, GW ward, Oberon> Deathtouch lands< shut off oberon,

Other than that its so limited its not worth it

Thanks for the responses all! So it sounds like it regens its protection amount every 4 seconds? So as long as the tank does not take More than that much damage every 4 seconds they would not be hurt. Because the spell has a long refresh this is not something you would want to use often, but in a pinch on a tough mob it could save the group.

It regens half it's max every so often. I thought it was 2 seconds, but I don't use it enough to say that with any confidence at all.

I use it when I am with another healer sometimes and if the tank is just getting hammered..hello welcome to the xpac..then I will hit my macro and say stun healing whoever..and I use it to help stabilize the tank. I use it when I know a stifle is inc occasionally too. It is a nice oh shit spell, but I dont use it as often as I could.

Don't leave it off your hotbar, just experiment with it and I bet you will find your own use for it.

lol its good for duel's as long as the person your dueling isn't doing over 4k dps just put it on and let them use all thier power agianst you then when its up keel them. If im not mistken every 2 secounds it regens half.
