Hello all I thought I would share my thoughts for those of you who are considering starting a Melee Based Mystic...
We first off I wanted to be an Orge Melee Mystic and since I play on a PVP server I was able to start an Orge Defiler and betray Freeport only to return and change my class to a Mystic. (Note you can only betray your city and immediately return and change your class on a PVP server.)
The reason I chose to do this was because at lower lvl's the STR and STA of the Orge really helped me stay alive while the grueling process of playing a low lvl defiler to lvl 12 was accomplished. Plus I love being HUGE and you get a 20% size increase as well which dwarfs all other players. Just good fun.
OK first thing I recommend if you are able... Get yourself some big bags, ADP III Spells and LVL 12 Mastercrafted gear made by a Guildy or one of your other higher lvl toons... This will help you alot and you wont get so frustrated as you lvl to 12.
OK now LVL your toon to 12 as quickly as you can. (Note if you get to lvl 4 and let your toon sit for a few days you will get xp bonus) After you reach lvl 12 equip your lvl 12 Mastercrafted gear and get ready to quest... Lock your Combat XP as well as your Questing XP so you wont gain any XP unless you PVP.
Now head over to Timm. Deep and do all the quest you can through the Mok rent lines, only lvl 10 and above will give you the much needed AA
Next do the Greater Feydark quests followed by the Darklight Woods quests...
By this time you should have close to 21 AA.
Now as far as the AA is concerned you need to get the melee attacks from the Mystic tree as you go... You only need to put 3 points in to get the next power so you should have all 4 melee attacks before long. when you have put 20 points into the attacks be sure to put the next point into Weapon Mastery.
Be sure your gear is STR WIS based as you will need STR for your attacks and WIS for your heals/wards.
By this time I think you will find that you are pretty powerful and you will begin to love the class...
I plan to unlock to gain 2 lvl's and then lock again to maxx out AA then rinse repeat...
The thing about Mystic's is they get better and better as they grow, the other Melee classes seem to get weaker at the higher lvl's pvp wise...
After you have maxxed out all the melee AA in the Mystic Tree I recommend getting the 100% Crit from the AGI line on the Shaman Tree followed by the Prophet Title from the STR line. I am unsure after that point but as I grow I will keep this posted updated.
