Very simple. I just spent 5 points in litany of combat. I have three new skills. On each skill it mentions healer based stance.
what is healer base stance? is this the stance I am in if none of the skills are activated?

The last two abilities on the lowest line of the Shadow Tree are considered the stances. While maintaining one of the 3 buffs from Litany of Combat, and you change into the "heal stance" (Ritual of Protection) the benefits from the Litany buff are negated. Once you drop the stance, you regain them again. The buff itself remains on, but is just not in effect while your Ritual of Protection is on.

Yes, if you have Ravenous Protector on then your Litany of Combat buff remains active--and those certainly make a good combination!
