My suggestion to you, Mono, if you can't get your hands on some of the raid items or the harder quests/zones, is to first pick up the shard gear. The T1 set costs something like 32 shards (off the top of my head, i could be wrong) and will give you a nice jumping-off point for gear. Once you have the full t1 set, move up to the T2, starting with the shoulders, and compliment with some dropped jewelry.

The 2 piece jewelry set from RE2 is also a good set until you can replace with raid stuff. The ward they proc helps with choker dmg. Try for 2, but 3 makes the ward stronger.

Seb has a decent forearm piece, Mangled Manacles I think is the name, that drops from a name near the slave quarters. 2 heal crit, 35 +heals, it isn't bad at all. Slamhammer also has a decent forearm piece if the bastard isn't up to giving you his cloak.

There is a decent cloak out of scion for healers as well. I believe it is a shared loot as I've seen it drop from a few different named, though usually its the Reverie.

Oh, and get the Dark Mail Gauntlets. GET THEM! Also, get the heal stance as soon as possible. The haste from both of these makes healing infinitely easier.

Just get in your hands casting speed gear and recast helps as well,
which is a big + when you have specced on Wis and get that 8% faster recast.
No point switching to a druid when all the time the people that are topping the heal parses are the shamen.
You have to remember though you are a preventive healer,you goal is to keep the tank as high as possible, you do not have the spike healing that druids have so if the tank goes down to red your work becomes quite harder is all.
As malachani said, just pick up a couple of casting speed items and slowly by raiding and such you will upgrade em to something better.
Tso lego sets will help you as well for the beginning,especially with all the upgrades coming up with the next update,go farming for those shards and have the T2 set ready for it.
But as i always say, just relax sit back and have fun,it's only a game after all

My biggest problem is if i'm warding the tank and suddenly two other members start to take dmg off say an ae like last mob in Deep forge i then need to fit in a heal for them or use grp heal then back to grp ward which takes a long time to cast.

the dot of the DF last named is pretty big, scream at them to sort out simple things like MOVING AT THE RIGHT TIME then they will be fine.. It is dead easy - watch for the elemental dot on the tank then move.
