I love my class, honestly i could give a rats ass about being a defiler, if i wanted to play one I would have rolled up a defiler.

Its not hard to make a defiler and roll him up to 70, nor is it hard to play a defiler after playing a mystic.

I am pretty sure your point was to stop complaining and learn to play my class. I play my class as well as it can be played and just as well as you play your defiler, so unless you think of yourself as complete shit then stop posting fucking retarded post.

If defilers are meant to be more offensive through their choice in spells, and mystics to be more defensive, why are mystics being forced to be nearly a different class altogether and defilers given class defining abilities that should rightfully be the mystic's?

You cannot deny that Mystics are meant to be more defensive, while Defilers more offensive. The only grey area in this matter is before EoF (and even afterwards) the oversight of the way the cap system worked shafted mystics out of group HP.

Can someone enlighten me where it says the mystics the defensive healer? and give me a reason why a defiler is a more defensive healer then a mystic? Is buffing Healthpoints over stamina considered defensive?


I cannot deny that due to the way diminishing returns work on stats, Raw HP > stamina either adjust to that or keep crying for the next years.

Quit crying about the fact we are not meant to be in the MT group when theres a defiler online. When there isn't a defiler online. We can do their job equelly good HOWEVER the tank will miss a few HP, damn we might even provide him more avoidance since the agility part on our buff isnt bad either. Remember its not Soe's choice to put you in the OT group its the choice of your Raidleader.

This entire discussions goes on and on for the coming years i guess. IMO Theres two kinds of Mystics. The true Mystic and the wannabee Defiler. you sound like a Wannabee defiler to me.

Your choice is simple you think defilers the more defensive shaman, theres this guy i think in QH that can turn you into the IN YOUR EYES more defensive healer.

Mystic were said to be the more defensive healer in the old class descriptions iirc which was long scrapped by SOE (since you asked).

In any case for me it's really not about anything other then diminishing returns (or itemization depending on how you look at it) and how that put the mystic class into a disadvantage when it comes to HP buffing. I dont really care that the defiler can buff HP more then mystics rather that our hp buffs are less efficient the better the tank is geared adding a bit of extra salt for the raiders. Other than buffing I would concider a Mysic equal or better then a defiler in most aspects.

Go read the descriptions of all heals both defiler and mystic

keep an eye on the cast time and recast timers while you at it.

Hmm makes me wonder actually now you mention it morara.

There was a very nice healing post on the old SOE forums where the end conclusion was that nomatter which healer class you played aslong as you all do the same (spam heal in this case) the figures where all the same.


I like to take that even further and say that mystic heals the better ones nowadays. If a mystic and defiler in theory would spam heal the mystic would benefit alot more from the +heal adornments then the Defiler as they have bigger heals but longer recasts. so

In theory lets say a defiler can heal three times in the same time as a mystic can heal 4 times. the mystic gets an extra wooping 80hp (neck / wristguards adorn) heal over the defiler.

In practise :
Rejuvenating Rite and Learned Healing kind of useless most of the time since they slow casts and another priest beat ya healing back to 100% before your heals land.
