Default Re: Mystic, Defiler -- Why?

Last night I sort of stumbled into a test. It involved a new item i got last week, and was the first fight I could use it on to truely see its greatness. That item was this:

The test subject was an avatar and this was my heal parse:
Duration name heals HPS Crits

(16:58) Lepios | 510276 | 501.25 | 111

The interesting thing is that with that item I never dropped below 80% mana. Every group ward gave me 5-10% mana back. I did die half way through from adds hitting me, I was rezzed, use mana stone, honor of pantrilla, heart, shard, and a clarity potion. I was about 30% mana at this point. At the end of the fight I had 96% mana with 2 charges on my heart, 1 on my shard, I used 2 clarity pots, and 2 casts of manastone.

But from that fight I had a true smile across my face, with that item I now do not have a mana problem at all and as you can see I was healing for a lot but i did not top the parse. I do admit I had a hard time keeping up the offtank group and trying to keep debuffs up and a few times they did fall. I used torpor once and never used oberon barrier. These spells are not but when mobility is needed for the tank to get adds, torpor is very bad to use. Oberon is very much the same way, yes its nice but I can out heal and ward oberon and I only use it when I am very low on power and the tank to taking a sustained and non-spiking damage.

Just like it was said before our class has a few problems the main being power and that helmet practically solved it for me. I really dont care too much on the hp buffing anymore, its just a losing battle to fight. The thing I find funny is that I can stay up with our defiler in the healing game, but can take him to town in dps, but this has come all from this tier.

P.S.

If I had the set boots or bracers i could have thrown those on and cut 5 secs off umbral liturgy and healed for even more but as I do not right now, I think 500 hps for 16 mins is fine to me.

Now thats a nice hat,

Taking the description it procs about 3 times a minute = 3x 257 = 771 power. I take it you do the same as me and made some buttons to quickly swap the hat in and out to gain even more power. 1k power returning every minute would be awesome.

on a side note; Whats this with all the leather in this expansion btw? the new loot guy fancy Druids/Monks?

In raid it was at 3.6 times per min and it has a chance it proc for each person in the group including my old.

3.6 * 257 = 925 per min and it has 7 checks to run through on every group heal, seems to also run the same check on group wards too. since each cast i was gaining about 8% of my 9K power each cast which is about 5 procs every 8-15 secs since its it giving me the power of the group ward plus 8%.

its insane though.

To put this is a better perspective, i went back and found how many times it procced on the avatar fight. It proced a total of 137 times for a total of 35,209 power returned. So its like Flowing Thought 208 Not bad huh?

So lepios does CL allow plate and chain healers to bid on leather healer items regularly or was this an exception item because of its uberness?

We do not have a DKP system, ours is officer/leader decided. To answer your question yes, you can recieve items that are not of the type your class commonly wears. We have had leather wearers get cloth, chain get lether ect...

I really like our system and it prevents people from building up DKP and then blowing them on one item that better for someone else or blowing them all becasue there leaving the guild ect...

So I am assuming, you are not a leader of CL. Did they say at all why they gave the item to you over a druid?

No i am not a leader, I got it becasue the previous week our warden got his and he was the only druid that was in raid. I typically will not go in on loot thats not of my type (chain) but this was an exception and I believe this is the best mystic helm in game period.
