Cure Curse
Hello ppl.
I need to ask you how you are doing curing curses on some mobs.
Is your raid using a curse-chain ? or anything else ?
Am I the only one that are so stressed out from these curses...and cures. If there is more than 1 curse to be cured..and other healers are suddenly not able to cure it..etc etc.
Sorry if its sounding very confusing...i dont know how to explain it really.
how do you feel about all these cures?...curses and normal cures.

Re: Cure Curse
I hate it ... s'part of why i'm glad my Mystics not my main anymore. The game has become nothing but a cure fest.
As for a suggestion with the curses, if by curse chain you mean this then yes i think you should. When a curse comes up basically have the healers assigned in an order from top to bottom on the raid window, and that next healer is due up to cure the next curse. Also make sure the healers (including you) call on on vent who they are curing IMMEDIATELY so no one else 'wastes' their cure cast.
Other than that, grin and bear it...it sucks but its what this game has become for most healers now, or at least thats how it feels.

Re: Cure Curse
so much for the removal of multiple cure types :P It would not be so bad if the recast was "low"
What I find more irritating is the inability to cure everything with a group cure. I envy inquisitors and MT healers who don't have to worry about single curing a whole group damnit!

Re: Cure Curse
My guild usually does a "group first, others second" approach. If there's 2 healers in a group (outside the MT group) then one becomes "primary curer" and the other picks up any out of group cures that are called in vent. We discourage non-healers from calling cure curses in vent (outside of the MT, in the case of pre-warned curses like on Anashti). Every healer has a macro, and its understood that whoever gets that macro in first is the one to complete the cure. Its worked pretty well for us.
Some fights, like Tyrannus, we will leave a curse on a dps if its not gonna blow em up, so we don't "waste" cures that we'd need for tanks or healers. Granted this is pretty rare and usually we can cure everyone. Or like on Anashti, where there are 2 curses, we have the DPS tell us if they're getting "the bad one" so we'll cure it, but the other we don't cure cuz its very short term.

Re: Cure Curse
If you're having to single target cure your entire group, then your group failed you by not bringing and hot-barring their remedies. Obviously, not all afflictions can be self-cured (stacking, stuns, timer down on remedy, etc.), but usually when a groupwide or raidwide det hits, it's on some type of timer, or your group should be prepared to self-cure.
As far as cure curse goes, I think a lot depends on the fight and the comfort level with your fellow raiders. We usually always run the same team, so we basically make the healers in their group responsible for curing the curse (whoever calls it first), and if they can't cure it to call for a cross-cure from another group. This has worked for us on just about everything, although we are experimenting with an order list that excludes 1 healer from the MT group and 1 healer from the OT group for fights when the curse is more frequent or hits multiple people at once.

Re: Cure Curse
I havent been on every encounter so i wont talk about some, but I can say for one on Mynzak you need to cure elementals, cause there are two ... and fights like Kultak with that stupid non damage elemental thing, and uh some other fights (i'm at work and not thinking too much anymore, I want to go home and take a nap).

problem is i am just too used to curing everything asap! there is just way too much shit to prevent a pot cure working everytime to rely on it. so I always cure everyone!
I even cure ppl via raid window if i see some struggling going on since my cures apply a 1k ward which can parse surprisingly high when you are spam curing the raid from dmg shield dots :P

Re: Cure Curse
Depends on the fight really. Some fights curing the curse on the MT or Healers is hyper important and there should be more than one healer designated to that, usually outside of the MT group, and some curing strat devised as well so you got a backup healer curing in case the other healer gets power drained, booted, killed, interrupted, ect... If your in a group with another healer you can just take the top three people in your group looking at the raid window, and the other healer could take the bottom three so you don't double cure the same person. It also depends on what the curse actually does, sometimes it doesn't matter when certain people get it like MT healers in the Yzlak fight.
I wish I could spec cure line on the Mystic tree, unfortunately Rez line with Spirit Dance is much more important to me at the moment, especially with Anashti Sul and the power watch.
