Re: New 80mystic needs some help and advice!
With a VP 4 set bonus: you'll never, ever use it.
Without a VP 4 set bonus: eh, probably the same as above.
To be honest the only times I've ever used it were to go afk for a drink or bio during certain fights. =)

Re: New 80mystic needs some help and advice!
Oberon: http://www.eq2flames.com/mystics/376...ut-oberon.html In summary it's mostly useless but good when you need to ninja for a moment, or when (for whatever reason) all your other wards are down. The best use I've found for it is when you know you're about to be stunned (via AOE or whatever), go ahead and pop it up for some added protection. It's a regenerating ward, so the amount keeps going back up over time.
For casting order, I usually precast single target and group ward on tank, and then just keep an eye on the ward amounts. If he's taking massive damage I'll throw in bolster/sentry+stoicism and some single target heals to keep him healthy while my wards come back up, maybe throw in some debuffs on the mob that's busy trying to tear off his face. With mystic, casting order is very dynamic, it's something that mostly comes with experience and varies a lot from fight to fight. Things that usually affect my casting order: cures (ugh), stuns/stifles/knockbacks, wards lasting too long (fight is easy, can dps or debuff or cross-raid heal/cure in the meanwhile), wards not lasting long enough (fight is hard, throw out things other than wards, cease dps, debuff like mad if you get any time between wards), etc.
Stats: +heal is underrated and can really help out a lot, depending on the level of your wards. Mine are both Mastered so I can use a lot of +heal. However, I see heal crit play a big portion of my heals, with decent heal crit+coercive healing+a fury's mythical buff it's not uncommon for me to get 6k+ on my single target ward and 10k+ on my group ward. The real secret though, is in the other items I use. The Claymore line's Arm of Erollisi+RE2 blue shiny collection's totem of the Ankexfen procs add soooo much to my healing, if you can get your hands on them by all means do so, they are invaluable.

Remember that the parse isn't everything. If people are staying alive, wtf do the numbers matter? And welcome to the ranks

Re: New 80mystic needs some help and advice!
An ideal casting priority is single target ward, Torpor, group ward, group heal, small heal, and large heal. A casting priority is not a casting order. At every moment you have a choice as to what to cast; choose the spell of the highest priority that is available. Obviously this does not apply to those moments where you need to deviate from the ideal priority like with curing, spot healing, and Oberon. Curing may or may not be more important than other abilities as it all depends on what detrimental you are up against. If curing instead of healing/warding prevents more damage, cure. Just like every class in the game, it is about doing the most work in the least amount of time.
In terms of single target ward and group ward performance: 1% base > 1% reuse > 1% casting > 1% crit bonus (if you have more than 30% crit chance) > 4 heal mod > 12 wisdom > 1% crit chance. Unfortunately, this doesn't really help you decide between a combination of statistics. I didn't declare by how much one statistic is greater than the next because those weights change as your statistics change and one person's values will be different from another. You will just have to use a calculator to figure it out for yourself.
Another thing to keep in mind is the practical benefit of having large wards which comes from base, bonus, mod, and crit chance. Simply comparing reuse to crit chance and choosing reuse because theoretically it is better may not provide you with the highest survivability because ultimately your wards are too small which means your allies have less health. With the gear available right now, there is no reason to have less than 100% crit chance when grouped.

Reason: Spell renamed. Bonus is also a practical benefit.

Re: New 80mystic needs some help and advice!
Coupla questions about your answers here. As i said in the other thread, I was mt shaman in a WOE raid the other night and got beat by both templars on the heal parse. I'm not too upset since my mystic is an alt (with t2 leg gear, mostly treasured jewelry and 140AA) and the templars were both raiding mains. But still, third place seems wrong, and no, we weren't keeping the tank alive (Esp not on aiden). Heck, on fights where the other mt healer got ported, she still equaled me on the parse. So yeah, if i wanna toy with this toon, i need remedial advice. I pretty much solod him to 80, and was in dps groups on the raids where i got my myth updates.
Specific questions, profe, how did you come up with the casting priority? is it based on cast time versus heal amount, or what? Also, why are debuffs not mixed into that cast priority? When do you cast alacrity? When my assassin has a mystic, i always ask them to try to hit me with alacrity pre-pull.

Re: New 80mystic needs some help and advice!
Heal parses are very subjective, and not very accurate of what is actually happening. Your gear is not comparable to the Templars, so don't feel bad that you didn't match up. Assuming you don't have a Rune-Etched helm, far and away the best chain/plate healer helmet. Nothing compares. Dark Mail Gauntlets are a relatively easy and impressive upgrade. Don't forget your RE2 item, the rolling pin from Outer Guk, and/or Claymore rewards for non-raid items you should be looking for.
The healing priority that Profe gives is for MT healing, as in a dps group I use group ward/heal far more than single targets (except right before an AE where I tag my squishies with single target/stoicism) tho Stoicism does get tossed around the most as my out-of-group heal. Really, its something you have to learn, and will learn with time. Pre-pull, if I'm MT healing, I will start with a single target ward, then group ward (hoping that one of my +base healing items will proc to make the group ward bigger) and then depending on the incoming damage, I stick with wards only if the tank isn't taking much damage (thus giving me much more time to debuff) or just throw everything I can whenever its up.
He's right about the gear priorities too. Its all about staying balanced. Having alot of heal crit with almost no +heals isn't as good as having average heal crit and average +heals. Giving up a big chunk of +heal for a little bit of reuse is also not a wise choice. You want to find the balance between fast casting, fast recast, bigger heals and more crits. Its a never ending game, let me tell you lol! Add into that heal procs, spell haste procs, mana procs, +base heal procs.... There are thousands of gear options you can make and be just as effective as someone else in one of the other thousands of gear options lol!

RE:When and how you are using Oberon Obstruction?
You cannot be feared when stunned. If you can time an AE fear, use Oberon before the fear hits. Otherwise, I use it when I A) have a 2nd healer in my group and B) all my other heals are down.

Re: New 80mystic needs some help and advice!
Yep, can't remember the last time I cast Oberon, even though I have it mastered.
As above, it's situational - fear/stifle/stun resistant ward is useful if you need it.
Most of the other stuff has been answered, except AA. Personally, I'm str/agi/sta specced, and with the Rune Etched Helm and 3 or 4 pieces of savage healing gear, I do a lot of my healing through procs/auto attack.
