Working my epic

I was working through my epic and noticed that my mystic can handle 80^^^ Heroics where my ranger can barely handle 80 ^ non-heroics.

I was able to solo the hidden vale part without any trouble.

Now I know this isnt a big deal for Mystics in general, but has anyone else found that their mystic has much more endurance in comabt than other classes?

I dont feel that mystics are overpowered by any means, but I do find that they have better survivability when soloing over almost every other class I have played.

Thoughts?

I agree. Compared to other classes, Mystics have much more tools at our disposal to kill mobs and stay alive. Debuffs are especially important when soloing named and heroic mobs, and Mystics have a ton of debuffs compared to other classes. Mystics are also a good class to duo easier instanced zones and contested with. Grouping is way faster though.

Luckily, I have been in guilds that like to run zones and do quest lines, otherwise I probably wouldn't have had the patience to solo through most of them.

those 80^^^ heroics in the hidden vale are about comparable to 81^ or 82^ non-heroics, btw; if you go pick a fight with a non-hidden vale 80^^^ heroic you will likely get yer arse handed to you, FAST

thought I do find mystics are good soloers, its mainly due to our wards/heals and imo, any healing class has good solo ability (defilers and temps suck at DPS tho making it painfully slow).

and rangers are okay at soloing (some) heroic content, you just likely need a new strat/gear choice (self-heal poisons, more kiting and slowing, solo specific gear, etc, etc; although I do think healers have the advantage in soloing, esp those that can root/stun/fear)

and I find that my survivability is really pressed by how power efficicent I can be; I usually run out of power fighting anything tougher than ~upper Seb (and usually KC is easy unless I get a bad add or 2, when the mix of interrupts and power usage become problematic); and with shard armor set bonus "Bane Warding",soloing became a LOT easier

Agreed, the ones in the Hidden Vale epic instance are pitifully overconned. Made me think I was uber, too :P

Not true i solo bugaboo the 80X2 in unrest all the time and i can solo coa and even more than that the other mystic in my guild solos Norrath literally, most OP class in game

lol where did I say no mystic could solo CoA or bugaboo? I haven't tried bugaboo, but I've soloed a lot of CoA (can't do the harder names, but trash is easymode)

And I know lots of classes that can do this and more, take Crusaders or wardens for example

I was talking to the OP (guess I shoulda put emphasis on the "you" part of my reply)...lol, I in no way meant that anyone would get owned, I merely meant that he was fighting easy mobs in the instance that didn't even compare to real 80^^^ Heroics...

considering he is on the quest to get his fabled weapon, I figured he was not geared out and I responded to him, and I even threw in "likely get your arse handed to ya" just to show its possible to take them even without your epic weapon...I did not, however, mean that it was impossible to take legit 80^^^ Heroics :P
