Re: Mystic Forum Mod: MIA?
I can see why nobody with the qualifications would want the job, you all think everything is right and this world is just a happy place where nobody is wrong... lol.
Listen to yourselves... how pitiful.... you haven't had a mod in 5 months and I don't know how good Lepios was then. But this forum section IS horrible and very very poorly done.
I could care less about being mod, but if nobody else wants to do it that's fine. I've got to believe someone has more qualifications than I do as a mystic, but fighting upstream against a wave of apathy and neglect has to be something nobody would want....

Re: Mystic Forum Mod: MIA?
no pretty sure we are all in agreement that you are wrong.
and you are in fucking dreamland, where you can come in and tell us, most who have been playing this class longer than you ever will that we are wrong.
Please try to justify to me how the healing spec of a mystic in the MT/OT role shouldnt differ then the mystic in a mage group, scout group, or just a dps group?
How the AA spec and gear choice on a fight like Anashti is different than a fight like Tythus or Gynok?
Please oh month old sage of the mystics tell us the magic formula. Show us the way. Cuz we are all wrong and you are right. You prolly dig so deep into numbers that you lose the instinctual nature of a good healer. Knowing who to spot ward, spot heal, how to time your group cure to land a split second after the AE does. Keep plugging numbers into your calculator.
For all other mystics. Somehow together we can compile our AA, Gear, Setups to create stickies and let people compare them for what they deem is best, not what some new kid in town trys to push off as sage like advice.

Re: Mystic Forum Mod: MIA?
lol, feeling threatend, Kaizer? Why I wonder?
I find clear differences in how I load up my gear based on different fights - power demands for fights like Zarrakon are much much different than fights like Tythus or Gynok. I haven't fought Anashti yet so no comparison for you there. Some fights require more group healing proc'ing items, others I swap in items that proc tank benefits if I've got a tank in grp. You don't swap gear out?
I already spot heal, spot ward, put stoicism on mages and MT healers when a fighter needs to move around. I time my grp cures when the timers are reliable probably just like you do. Spending time examining the facts and numbers does NOT mean I have no raid instincts for the fights nor developing instincts as a healer - nice shot in the dark, though.
I've had the toon for about 3 yrs., but devoted my main for 6 weeks - mock my inexperience and asking questions if you like - apparently you're totally satisfied sitting on your ass and not challenging yourself to get better or to question game mechanics.
I can guarantee you that there is a math formula BEHIND the game mechanics that absolutely makes some items and effects more valuable than others. Why do you find it so difficult to understand that? The game is run by a computer engine that performs mathematical computations based on what is going on and thousands of variables including the gear YOU wear. Why do you shut down at the notion that that math is verifiable AND can lead to better and more efficient healing?
You can look down your nose at me all you want, Kaizer. I'm sure there's nothing you could do better, but some people don't know everything already like you do ):

I def. find myself swapping gear, and I don't tackle much more than ToMC and the toughest grp instances :P so I have to agree that gear swapping is a BIG part of the game...

By this notion, the UNIVERSE itself and everything within can be represented using a(n infinitely complex) equation (considering that matter has certain quantum particles composing it, each having mathematical formulas to represent them and their behavior, blah blah blah). Just because there are mathematical formulas doesn't mean that the solution of that formula is a legitimate path to success. While there ARE mathematic computations driving the game, USER INPUT is one of the variables and this can drastically affect every aspec of the game.
And you, yourself said that you change gear out, so doesn't that mean that

All in all, I think there is a good general consensus to what is important for mystics, but that general consensus applies to those of us that follow the mystic play-style 'paradigm.' There are blatantly obvious wrong choices a mystic could make, but there sure as hell are possible deviations from the core of the mystic ideology that end well and still make a fairly successful mystic.

Re: Mystic Forum Mod: MIA?
I totally think we should have a like 'write why you think you should be forum mod' thing or something.
BTW Wiz being a mystic has had one great effect the last couple days ... it made the mystic board way more fun to read and post on than its been for a lil bit. Lots of new posts to read and respond to!

No doubt, but its been the same shit over and over. Its just him, trying to make it all work mathematically and then arguing with everyone, I'm starting to think he is more of an asshole than a mystic. Simply nothing more than someone who talks just to hear himself talk. but none the less, Ill take it upon myself if yall are willing, send me nominations for mods and the reasons and ill get the poll going with all the reasons for which person

I should just get an obnoxious flashing pic sig instead of typing. So many ways to prove you're an asshole and I choose the one with the extra work ):
