But What if I love my Gnome ? Attack my tinkering Army!!!!

Didnt think they would allow this but Im a fan of the idea. Any little bit that could actually help would be nice.

good question does anyone know? I would assume yes. Right now Eurdite is looking like the best choice for my play style.

I didn't say anything about Wood Elf bums thank you Wiz, I actually mentioned the heal crit and power increase. If i picked my classes solely on how they look, every one of my characters would be Arasai. Looking awesome is secondary, you can always get an illusion.

don't pretty much all races get a heal crit and power increase?

Edit: http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Traditions

I looked it up, everyone has some heal crit, and a lot have a power bonus, but not all and they're not all the same %.

heal crit is of very marginal value for a shaman, so that would be one of my lower criteria as i examine races. Power pool is good, but hopefully you're not barely scraping by on your power reserves too often.

Reuse and Cast speed, on the other hand = win

False

Maxing your crit is important, adding 15% is hardly marginal. Add to that 5 crit bonus from your heal stance and 10 from the single target ward aa. With items my single target ward has 1.73 crit mod. It all adds up.

Perhaps we're quibbling over the word 'marginal' - nonetheless, I find heal crit ridiculously easy to max raid buffed and therefore seek everything else. In picking a race, I would find an extra 2 or 3% heal crit vs. reuse or cast speed to be very marginal. Fair enough or would you prioritize it for some reason?

Remember though that spell inspection windows on wards read incorrectly. Shaman's only get half the crit bonus other healers get, just like how we get half the benefit of a critical ward, compared to a critical heal (i.e. 15% instead of 30% increase.)

Most likely you have 1.365 crit mod, not 1.73. ((1.73 - 1) /2) +1 = 1.365. Plus, Heal Crit is only a very small aspect of the total spectrum of sources of HPS. Heal Crit and Crit Bonus help, but depending on how far along you are on the diminishing returns curve, casting haste is better usually.

Erudite looks best so far.

Okay time to explain myself because I was serious while joking at the same time:
Halfling Traditions that make it worth it:

Vale Protector: Permanent. 2% melee crit, +5 pierce (fighter/scout). OR 2% heal crit, +5 ministration (mage/priest).

Jum Jum Regimen Permanent: 3% increase to max health.

Protection of the Jum Jum: 20 sec duration/5 min recast. Small self ward vs. all damage. (~+1k at 80)

Mischevious Strike: 1 min duration/1 min recast. Single target piercing attack + melee skills debuff. (you guys do melee, right?)

Found via: EQ2 Game Data
I really like it for my play style.
