What have you got that makes your group ward get upto 6k?

Even with master group and claymore, when that combo crits for me it's around 4.5k to 5k tops, what else adds the extra 1k?

Might have a coercer, with coercerive healing cast on him. I think it adds an extra 15% to your heals/wards.

STR line ftl.

Knowing when to send in your dog is a big factor in keeping it from dieing.. yeah, sure.. but when dipshits that you have no control of pull aggro, or your tank decides to "move the mob".. shit happens like mobs riposte your dog's attacks = dog dies.

Try AGI/STA or AGI/WIS.

For someone of your level however, and experience, and considering the content you raid, you probably should try at AGI/WIS to see how you like it.

My husband is the MT of our guild. He hits his 5 sec incoming macro, and I immediately hit my grp ward (I run in MG over our defiler because I have all my masters), my single target ward, and bolster.(Sometimes I'll even throw my umbral attendant up if I know that the mob can come off with an initial aoe.) When I do this, I don't stand with the rest of the raid, I stand on the MT, because they will always rush for me, and if there are adds, it's easier for him to grab them. 95% of the time, he gets it off of me, but it's still always a good idea to stand on him. Once I know he has solid aggro, I quickly move back with the rest of the raid.

To prevent your spirit companion from dying when you take ward aggro, set it to only attack mobs who attack him. Default, he will attack anything that attacks you. This causes him to get the aggro and poof, no more puppy. Another thing that also help is the end ability on the Str line, which makes him immune to aoe (unless it's directed at him).

With debuffing, I always do mine in a certain order. Frist of all, I make sure the MT is being kept up while I do this. Remember to always keep him healed and not deter if the other healers are struggling to keep him up. Once I know I am good to debuff, I cast all my debuffs which lower the dps and str of the mob, so they won't hit the MT as hard. Second, I come off with Wail of the Ancients to help the casters nuke it harder and last, I cast all the rest of my debuffs. (in no particular order).

As the other's have stated it's a practice thing.

Dog gets sent after the fight is established and the mob is positioned so that his back is facing you. This keeps your dog from getting reposited and instantly killed.

As to you dieing... It's a double edged sword, if you don't ward just prior to pull your tank will most likely take a huge hit to his hps, if you do and you are constantly pulling agro.. your tank just needs to help you out with his taunts on the way back in.. timing is everything depending on the encounter I usually adjust my casting so that the ward is landing right as the tank is moving back to the raid with the mob in tow... As you gear up it won't be as bad for you either, mystic's have thick skin covered by nice chain armor, we can take some damage for sure, especially if your group ward is up.

Also you should always be casting, wards when they refresh, and debuffs the more of your debuffs you can keep on the big mobs, names in particular the less incomming damage for your tank the faster you will kill it. For myself I rarely worry about the parse for damage, I cast my dot's as often as I can and usually try to get some melee attacks in from the rear in between my casts. It really depends on the situation.

Practice makes you better and better. Good luck with your raid shammy..
