Default Raid Mystic Blues

Ok so i did my first raid Sunday (Spirit of the Lost) with a my mystic....was a crash course and my actions non-consistent..

Problems i Encountered...

- Allot of dieing from Wards.. Develop timing?
Question: when is it good to group ward and MT ward??
- Pet dieing allot so no free Wards..
Question: There a secret to preserveing my Poor Widdle Pet?
- Debuffing was very inconsistant..
Question/Answer?: I'm pretty Sure i just need to condition my self a routine for this issue through repitition.

Other than that my main concern is a Dead mystic isn't good for the raids well being. Seeing that "sprits of the lost" is a trivial raid zone and we mowed through it faster than a HoF run i still need to iron out my imperfections.

Thanks all suggestions welcomed!

dieing from wards on incoming usually happens because the tank doesnt grab agro for various reasons (taunt resist, missed arrow, etc.) shouldnt happen often but when it does you should have enough time to get your detaunt off. the good thing about the mystic detaunt is that it is a mez and not a root or a fear like the defiler or warden which i think sucks. if it happens that often then you need a better tank.

your pet dieing depends upon what line you went down... if you went down str line then ur pet is prolly dieing more to ripostes and parries than anything... simple solution would be to go behind the mob (the tank should position the back to you anyways) and make sure ur dog attacks the back therefore eliminating or at least decreasing the chance of a riposte. the dog doesnt have that much hp and it isnt worth buffing it so you kind of get a bit of luck in it. i personally didnt take the str line cause i think that anything having to do with the pet is garbage and i went agi and wis line.

i think there is another thread about debuffs somewhere but basically you need to just get used to keeping them up. shaman debuffs are very important and decrease the amount that the tank gets hit by a lot so you wanna make sure you have lamenting soul, lethargy, and shrieking haze on the mob at least. on group mobs you can get away with putting ur group debuffs on the mob because chances are they wont last long enough for any other debuffs to be worth ur time unless ur really good at debuffing.

just fuck around with it and learn from ur mistakes... the one thing that you should know is if you arent casting something at all times as a mystic then you arent doing ur job.

So technically...

a. i cast group/single ward on the countdown of the pull.. Provided our MT is off the chain!
b1. I cast eaither single target slow, str/stam, dps debufss the ward in between.
or
b2. I cast group slow, group mit debuff and then str/stam, DPS and single slow and wards as i see fit?

Also

Would it be bad to cast some of my DOT's or Nukes or would you say it's not worth the mana use?

My biggest concern is timeing the first wards....Oh and not dieing heh

As for dying on pull due to wards, it shouldn't happen if your tank grabs aggro fast enough; however, if it does happen just be ready to throw your aoe dehate. As for your dog dying, I wait about 5-10 secs before sending him in and make sure the mob is turned, so he doesn't get riposte to death.

playing catch up with a shaman defiler or mystic is shithouse and ineffective....should have him pre stacked and have a group ward castign on inc so when the mob comes in your initial ward is at least partially eaten as your second one is dropping

if your dieing from pre stacking either your tank is sleeping, or he sucks.

depending on your group/job warding/debuffing prioraties switch....as for the dog...my dog hardly ever dies but i went down str/agi....and like someone above said waiting 5-10 secs and makeing sure you send it at a back will keep your dog alive, mostly in eof there are alot of fights where mobs have dmg shields and just isnt worth sending the dog in for

Tbh I rarely group ward if I'm in the MT group as it is so damn slow. If you've got a good Templar in there with you you're golden anyway.

On the names I will usually Bolster (maxxed out on aa's) ST ward, Torpor then pile in the debuffs whereupon it is usually time to recast the ward. If there's no curing required I will also chuck in an Oberon Barrier after the starting wards, and go make a cup of tea

If I get stuck in a caster group then its target the tank and group ward followed by all the debuffs again. Usually then I am also on cure duty too.

Umm...Why would you not GWard in the MT group? Saying its slow is a horrible reason not to.

I never raided with my shaman, but shouldn't you be aiming to have your single target and group wards up at all times?

Depends, on easy fights (trash, easy nameds, etc...) you the MT and off-tank shaman should usually co-ordinate and the MT only throw up group wards while the OT throws up single, but if its a hard encounter that beats the shit out of the tank, just spam 'em when they come up.

With set bonus's you can group ward every 15 seconds, and my group constantly hits 6K+ with claymore and crits.
