There are arguments for it and against. Personally I'm proud that we were the first guild created on the server and have had a role to play in for more than two years now. Alot of people's interest is dying down with the state of PvP and the contested stalemate. AoC and WAR look poised to hit every guild significantly. I can understand some arguments that we need something drastic and different to get people motivated and moving again. However, the idea to sell mythicals was an attempt to motivate and engage our members through personal gain at our community's expense. It was wrong.
You can take or leave my word that the sales of mythicals were never intended to fund a move for Venekor. If they were so intended, we would have asked for straight up cash (as offered by many) rather than asking for platinum as we did. We had as many as 14 buyers lined up and interested, but this morning I sent word to each of them that we were from this point no longer interested in entertaining their present and future offers.
As for Kruhl. While we may have been wrong in the first place to open up mythicals for purchase, we had already agreed to terms and he had already exiled at my personal invitation and word. To wrong Kruhl would not have legitimately righted this situation but made our position even worse, so we as a guild carried out the terms of our agreement as obligated. The only thing worse than embarking down a foolish path in the first place would be to remain on it after the realization that it is in error. While we felt that our decision was within our rights, in hindsight we realize and recognize the amount of negative impact that such a policy could have made. However, what is done is done.
edit: Fixed last paragraph, and I doubt that this statement will be appreciated in a forum such as this, but it I feel that it is needed to be said nonetheless.
