actually i think it was more like some american organisation bought pride because it was doing too much shadow to the UFC, then killed it hoping to keep the fighters would stay in the UFC. Japan in the mean time created dream (pride v2) using the money from the time they sold pride and took the fighters back : alister overream, mark hunts, crocop, hanson, alvares etc etc.

selling pride was just a smart move from the japs :/
