It's not the fact that they talk trash... that's part of any competitive game like this and believe me we all enjoy doing it. It's the way they do it. You can talk trash in an intelligent, relevant way and get into some great discussions on the forums or in game, and everyone involved usually enjoys that.
...but that's not what the majority of trash talking is from Onyx. It's petty, puerile, ignorant, vulgar, adolescent tripe. Baseless RL insults and barely coherent slurs. (I can throw some more adjectives around like a serious grammar nerd, but I think everyone knows Onyx and gets the point.) No one enjoys trying to come back against that in a discussion in game. That does not lead to an enjoyable play experience. Thus, most of us ignore it. It's the distilled essence of the saying "don't argue with idiots... they'll drag you down to your level and beat you with experience."
...and what's really sad is that I know that these people ARE intelligent and COULD be really fun to talk shit with, but for some reason they, as a guild, have chosen to act like complete douchebags instead. So instead of having a chill, relaxing exiled faction where we would STILL have two major guilds duking it out and enjoying some good competition, we have this petty, bitter squabbling.
Look... I don't want a fucking carebear experience, I don't want a blue server, and I don't want to have avatar spawns all to myself. I just want to log in and not have to deal with 70 people who think it's cool to act like complete tools all the time. Is that an unreasonable request?
