    Default Eq2 on Mac

So lately my PC has been a royal pain in the ass and i was thinking about ditching it for a new macbook pro. Does anyone have experience playing on the new generation Pro laptops?

    15-inch: 2.2 GHz

    • 2.2GHz quad-core
      Intel Core i7
    • 4GB 1333MHz
    • 750GB 5400-rpm1
    • Intel HD Graphics 3000
    • AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 1GB GDDR5
    • Built-in battery (7 hours)2
I'm guessing the game will run fine but I'm not sure..

Good shit. What performance settings do you run the game on and what kinda FPS are you getting?

I run on an older Macbook Pro bootcamped to Windows XP. With every setting (literally) down to its lowest, it runs the game smoothly even in raids (30-70) FPS), but still sucks terribly in things like mass-player Warfields (1-7 FPS).

Balanced. Could do HQ, a bit higher and it gets a little laggy. Between 15-40 FPS depending on what's going on.
Works fine in PQ, but performance in DoV is terrible anyway - with the random 1FPS lag spikes everyone gets.

    I used Win7.
Make sure all the drivers are set up and shit.

Win7 install went flawless for me on BootCamp.

I dunno why you'd subject yourself to a mac, but with:

    3.3 ghz quad core
    2nd gen core i5
    8 gigs ddr3 ram
    Radeon 5870 1 gig ddr5 1333 mhz

I run rift on ultra (highest) with more slide bars turned up after ultra at a solid 60-100 fps, watching my core monitor most of the cores never run past 30-40% load, unless I'm in a 20 man raid or something. Soooo, those specs should easily let you run eq2 on probably extreme or near it, might have to lower shadows, shadows in eq2 rape resources for whatever reason.
