    I was always wondeing is the super bowl like the USA finals for bowling, or is it just another sport/event with an incorrect name (like football or the 'world championship' in which only some US teams are present)?

    The super bowl is the most watched event out of anything. The majority of every age race and whatever else group watches it, you're never going to get a casual medium that will play a halftime show and please everyone.
