Hello -

I received a complaint regarding the rule against "Imposter Posting" on this site. That rule states:

L. Imposter Posting: You are not allowed to falsely pose as another person on this site, especially as an employee of Sigil, SoE, or a well known player. The purpose of this rule is to prevent anyone from registering a fake name and assuming the identity of another person for the purpose of harassing that person or his guild.

Apparently, we have more than one person posting as "Dankshasta", using names clearly intended to be confusingly similar to that name.

I don't mean to get all corporate on you, and realize people on Nagafen enjoy a different, more intense type of fun than we typically have on other servers.

But, you can't use another player's name here, or one intended to be similar, as a way to fuck with that person. I probably don't need to explain the reasons for this to you all.

You are pretty much free to do almost anything you want here (within reason of course, and never anything that will cause law enforcement to show up on my doorstep).

This is just one of those things we need to enforce when a complaint is made so we can maintain a level playing field here. Our simple rules are enforced equally against both well-liked and notoriously unpopular players. What I'm saying is, you can count on me to do the same for you, if anyone ever does this to you here.

Rather than penalize anyone, I suggest we all just look at this as a learning experience, and therefore I propose an amnesty. What I'm offering are free name changes to any of the fake Dankshastas (such as Dankskansta, Danksukya, and anyone else who doesn't have a character on Nagafen named Dankshasta).

To take me up on this fabulous free name change offer, please send me a PM by tomorrow and let me know what new name you'd like. I'll gladly change it - there is no need to create a new account, I can just change your name in the admin console.

If I don't hear from you by tomorrow, please understand I'll have to insert the word FAKE in front of the Dank-like name you are using now. I'd rather just give you the new name of your choice, however, so please send me a PM and let me know what new name you prefer.

As for the imposters, yeah this was my one, and only complaint, and that was just becuase I don't think people should be anonomous on here. Besides a flame is so much more searing when you leave your name. Anonomous posts are for queers, everybody knows that!
