I posted this because my GL asked me to even though i new useless pieces of Bogsalmon like you would flame me. Thanks for proving me right. You asked for opinions and got them, don't get butt hurt because people don't agree with you.

It is not however the end-all-be-all of gear selection, people will have their own prefered setups that might suit their playstyle better, just look upon this as a starting out guide to mold into your own.

Re: Best Gear Available -- RoK
It doesn't hurt my feelings when someone responds with thier opinion. It does piss me off when someone lashes out at someone that is trying to post something constructive to discuss and learn. Maybe his mommy didn't hug him when he was little or maybe his boyfriend just gave him a Hot Pocket, don't know, don't care.
I should have been a little more specific why i like the item and when.
Master P.!! During any fight in the game i never run out of power, even running BP. I never use hearts, shards or any other power regen, don't need to. But, Master P does a wicked power drain. He always seems to get loose from our MT and charges the raid force just as he does his power drain. Now i'm running BP, my pet survived, but i'm down on my power big time but still recoverable with a little power management. Then wham, here he comes again with another power drain. Luckily i'm not as bad off as everyone because i use this item for this fight which allows me to use less power and regen more. Thus allowing me to keep BP up.
I apologize for not being more situational with my original post, didn't want to write a disertation on the item. My point is that this item is useful to me when we encounter a power drain mob.
Yes there are better items out their for us. Would love to get my hands on the Dark Orb of the Mind.

well considering that your 'out of the box' thinking would mean lower dps because there are better pieces for that slot. Yea, you will get flamed. Its not that certain pieces are good for smaller raiding guilds, its because some pieces are complete trash considering the slot they take up. If you need power regen there are several items, in slots like the waist, that would make for a much better choice if you are in need of power regen.
Just something to think about.

If you weren't anon and could give us a link to your player profile, we could try to be constructive to give suggestions where to better place power proc items.

What about Charmed Rock \aITEM -534126856 -1085550576:Charmed Rock\/a for the charm item listing? It's from Praetorian Captain Nagol in Sebilis.

I try not to get involved in these types of discussions because I'm a pack rat and as such, have gear of all varieties for lots of situtions. This just made me laugh though. The power drain from Master P is part of the fail condition for not following the script. Can you survive it and still defeat the encounter anyway, yes. However if you work the encounter as intended you'll never see the power drain and as such, could add more dps with other items. After all, dps is your job and power management is the necromancer's forte. Try doing the encounter as inteneded and you and your guild will be much happier.

Um, the power drain is part of his regular AOE, not any fail condition event. The closer you are the more damage, the farther you are more power drain. Seeing who you are i assume you stand on top of the mob the whole fight. Not everyone can in lesser gear, they get one shotted. It would explain why you dont know about the power drain...

Re: Best Gear Available -- RoK
Couple of questions:
1. What's the reasoning behind the ranking of the class set VP robe over the Robe of Dark Power. That is a lot of crit and plus damage to be giving up. Just got the robe last night, finally, so haven't had time to compare DPS, but at first blush, it seems like RODP would pwn it.
2. Manual of Malady: Anyone using this? Haven't seen much, if any of a DPS increase from it (over praetor's guard), and it seems to have some effect that drains my life once I get out of raid (this might also be some BTC bug)
3. Blackened Band of Devastation: My parses appear to indicate taht this does about 2% of my DPS (but only used Trak fight and PR run as examples). Anyone getting anything higher on this? It ran to about 70 DPS zonewide. Saw some crits for over 10K, though, which is nice.
Thanks for your thoughts. Just for reference/perspective, I'm a pretty well geared necro, 6 VP set pieces, mythical, BTC, Dark Orb, etc. blah blah blah. No freakin sash yet because Trak doesn't believe in dropping mage gear. Sorry ass mofo.
