Make sure they realize that INT and STA are their two most important stats. I raided with another necro that did not realize that INT actually effected their dps and after he learned that, he had to adjust most, if not all, his gear to reflect that.
Have them pretty much use rot, coil and lifetap as much as they can, and use those 3 spells whenever they're up, swarm pets and debuffs whenever those are down.
Also, what helps a little bit, you can cast swarm pets on pull or start dpsing a little earlier than most others, only because we don't have all our dps coming from one source (unlike wizards/warlocks and high parsing scouts) so we get to get away with starting things a little earlier, hehe...
Also helps having bertoxx as their deity, even though the cloak from them is pretty worthless, lol. Take a look at Sabutai's post on Best Rok gear available. A lot of gear you get from quests are pretty nice until raid content, and even some isn't replaced.
And never, ever stop casting... they shouldn't be having power problems unless they have things like blood pact up all the time, but there's no reason to, especially if you have people calling ae's. Giving the necro's ample time to setup Blood pact so their pet doesn't die from ae's and such.
Completely off topic... I'm pretty sure that alot of other necro's and especially warlocks will agree that the funnest fight so far in RoK is the 6 man epic fight in PR... If everything goes the way I plan, having everything setup before we pull, I can usually outdps everyone on the raid by about 1k or more, lol. On that fight, I think my best parse on it was about 5.5k or 6k I think... and our warlock being the next one in line, hehe... sorry Rouk!
